I have been using X-Air XR 18 for over 4 years with many different live bands by now and the product has been rock solid all the time. Minimal installation space on stage. Clear preamps good channel strip tools especially with realtime RTA in EQ makes its very easy and exact. The efx section is also good! providing many useful tools as vintage compressors, delay, reverbs. Perhaps the reverbs are not so many, but its of course a question of its CPU. For 18 in and 6 outs + main outs the price is a bargain still today! Remember to think of an audio connection back to the X-Air on stage if you controlling audio device from FOH. Also you can use it for recording at the same time running the live set in connecting a computer to the USB. With the product you get a good redeem version of Tracktion DAW software that can record on all desktop OS (MAC/WIN/Linux). Also you can use it as an Audio interface (note: standard midi is not supported, only control interfaces to the mixer and that stuff). Also you can use it as a home or live EFX box with mixing/recording capabilities, as soon as all settings are set the unit will run the same setup all time.. The Software is very good performing on all OS: Mac, iOS, Android, Windows, Linux. I have tried an old super-obsolete 1999-ish laptop with the software on Ubuntu 14.04 and it works!! Snapshots are handy to use for keeping songs or separate bands in control during the evening.
I did take some precaution in getting a high quality external router to connect the device with from the start. The benefits of this has been: better coverage and solid performance with several users in network environments. I can't figure out any cons except that Behringers website can be better for downloading apps and firmware since it hides many apps as default on the webpage, should be easier. Also.. After the simple firmware update from the desktop software I needed to bring up the channel faders all up and all down again (on the android pad) to be able to get the audio working again on some channels. No issues has been after that. X-AIr XR 18 is very good!
