A versatile microphone

The Aston Spirit is a extremely sensitive and detailed microphone. And as such I wouldn't recommend using it in a uncontrolled environment. But aside from that I have no problem recommending this microphone for hobbyists and professionals alike!

Now. I rarely use anything else than the cardioid setting. But I do like that I have the option to use the omni-directional or bidirectional polar pattern if I want and need to. What I don't like is the quality of the switches. Aside from that the Aston Spirit is built like a tank!

As with most microphones it doesn't have a flat response curve. But it has one of the more pleasant response curves to work with out of the box. And this makes the Aston Spirit a good companion that should have its place in everyones microphone locker!

Bra ljud , passar bra för manlig röst, lätt att använda mycket stabil.
Jag spelar in på Logic Pro, mycket nöjd

Does the job -- whatever it might be -- admirably, especially given the price. It has zero mojo, but that's what outboard and plugins are for.

Fantastic studio mic

This mic is perfect for many applications. I had amazing results with voice overs, broadcasts, male singers, bass amp, acoustic piano and flute. It's really solid, well built, nice and heavy.
The ONLY thing I find sometimes annoying is that without an external shockmount or balljoint you can't tilt the microphone, as it screws directly onto the mic stand or the boom arm. This may be a problem if you are setting up some stereo recording techniques, but other than that it isn't an issue. It has a built-it shockmount that works nicely.
It has 3 switches, one for the highpass filter (80Hz), one for the polar pattern (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure of 8) and one for pad (-20dB, -10dB, 0)
The microphone is just amazing, not harsh, full bodied, and really solid, perfect for acoustic instruments, cabs and voice-overs.
