The Meinl TMGS-2 Gong stand offers incredible strength and durability. Made in heavy gauge steel tubing the stand is beautifully finished in a durable matt black powder coat. The centre shaft is supplied in two sections, the upper section sliding into the lower, this allows for an easy height adjustment. A quick release locking mechanism makes for a smooth adjustment action and an additional locking screw provides final security. The base of the stand is incredibly sturdy and the double-bar design makes the stand almost impossible to knock over. There are 4 adjustable screw-in feet making it easy to level the stand on uneven ground. The hooks are spiral design and come with a protective PVC covering, which also adds more protection against vibration. The installation is straight forward, perhaps the instructions could be made simpler but anyone with some sense can work it out. I totally recommend this stand as well as the optional accessory TMGS -2G that allows you to double-up your gongs. Great quality at a reasonable price!

very good and stable stand

I brought this for my 40" Zildjian gong. It weighs approximately 23 kg. The assembly was easy and the parts robust and well finished. Raising and lowering the shaft to adjust for the height of the gong is easy and the locking mechanism simple and effective.

Very sturdy gong stand. Easy to adjust the height and always reliable. I find it a little cumbersome to transport so I keep this one at home, and have a more transportable one also...but still, an awesome product!

best stand!

I have a very heave 40" wind gong, I have tried it on other stands but this is the sturdiest, hands down. If you like a bit of vigorous gong playing this is perfect. Only downside is that it's quite bulky to transport if you're doing gong baths.

Excellent gong stand but not easily portable

I bought this stand primarily for its compact dual gong carrying capability (with optional secondary stand). While it is very solid with a small footprint, it is a hassle for frequent travel as disassembly is not very fast . It is also quite bulky.

The similarly priced, but less robust looking Bergerault SMEDI Gong/TAM Stand sold here looks far more practical if you require portability (though it doesnt offer the Meinl's dual gong capability)

A sturdy stand

A sturdy stand with quality construction and finish. My only complaint would be that the gong sticks out farther than expected (this may be due to a need to keep the weight forward for stability?). It would be nice if the gong were back 15cm or so.

Robust and stable

This is a product of great quality. It does not produce any sounds when I play the gong (90cm Thomann Tam Tam). It is quiet. It is strong. It does the job flawlessly. I'm very happy and recommend it :)
