Great vintage Marshall tone
Kirlon 26.06.2020
The amp is awesome when you can crank it. The sound is vintage Marshall. It is not quite superlead or jtm45, but more like earlier superbass.

The eq controls are responsive. Tilt is marketed as simulation of jumping normal and high treble channels on classic Marshalls - in fact, it works as treble boost (clockwise from noon) or bass boost (counter-clockwise from noon)

The gain knob and the gain boost add bottom end as turned up/activated, so the amp might sound thin on lower gain settings. Also, there is not much distortion provided by the gain alone, you have to crank the master volume as well. This will get really loud though, so using an attenuator is a good idea.

And when you do crank gain and master, you get awesome vintage Marshall tone with great cleans (when volume is dialed back on guitar) and with rocking distortion (with full volume on the guitar).

Tube warmth
Not for me 09.12.2020
If you want a good solid tube amp at with a vintage look, feel and sound, the Origin is it. Even with the output at low and volume at 1 you get a true tube amp feel without any signal loss.

I'd happily play this live at any occasion be it a club gig or in a studio and if you want to turn it up and feel it growl, it will have no problem keeping up with whatever you want to do. Also takes pedals fantastically well and has a very functional FX loop in the back.

I owned a SuperBass Head/Cab back in the day and thought this would be a nice addition for domestic use to get plexi tones at a sociable level.

The tones are great - very bright, but sing when pushed in to light OD. However, it is ear crushingly loud - not suitable at all for home use without a power soak (even the low power setting is very very loud - much more so that the same low power setting on my Victory V40). This s not a criticism, just an observation. If you are looking for something that will bridge the gap between home use and small gigs, this is probably too loud - but it does sound great!

It is what it is and that's good!
Reverend Strat 20.10.2020
Want some good ol' Jimi, Jimmy, and Stevie tones? You'll get them! It's vintage, warm and really good. Great with pedals as well. However, it's also really loud. You can absolutely play at home as well, but you'll only get some saturation and mild distortion at bedroom levels. Just go crank it somewhere and it's magical! Perfect for blues, old school rock, heavy rock etc.
