Not for flute
IsItMe? 16.05.2020
With good intentions, but not fit for purpose.

Pros:
None

Cons:
Handling noise
Expensive
Velcro supplied better replaced with a velcro cable-tie
Doesn't fit flute well

Velcro is far too long for flute and not "sticky" the whole length - so requires fitting skewed with a tail sticking out to ensure the rubber bit of the mount sits against the body of the flute (or else the whole mount just slides round).

I tried with a velcro cable-tie and this worked better (velcro both sides the whole length)

The show stopper however is the amount of handling and key noise when you're actually trying to use it.

Also....nearly £17 for a small rubber mount and a bit of velcro is really poor value.

Half the price of the DPA clip....unfortuately half the job.
CoreBSP 05.12.2017
In principle this clip is a great asset to the Ovid system. Alas its design has one basic flaw - the ability to get a really nice grip on the instrument - and the faff in getting it on and getting it to stay in place.

The basic flaw is in the design of the velcro fastening. The DPA clip has the velcro fixed at one end. The velcro comes through the clip and thus through a simple pull a very tight fit and secure fit can be achieved. I found that this clip was awkward (in so far as you need 2 hands holding bits of velcro in order to try to get the tension required - it just isnt as good - and in this case I have to say that despite its price you'll regret buying this - just get the DPA clip and enjoy life. You dont need to be cursing your equipment.

Does not really work in practice
Anónimo 09.10.2016
I bought this to amplify my flute live, using it to mount the t.bone CC100 microphone

Pros - none

Cons - lots...

It does not really work in practice.
The fixing tape is too long for a flute; I had to cut it.
The clip does not stay in place as it is too smooth - it just rotates round the body of the flute.
Wherever you install it the microphone and cable get in the way of the mouth piece.
The clip does not have any shock isolation, it picks up so much key noise from the flute which is clearly audible above the notes.
Very bad design.

Nice option.
ronhow 09.04.2018
I just bought the Ovid goose neck mic and fitting options just in case some extra horns or winds turn up. Nice to have options to fit a bug to any wind instrument ... works OK on a flute and the Ovid is actually quite light as opposed to other bugs I use ... I don't think a flautist or a clarinetist would want anything too heavy hanging off their end bits!!
