I had already bought the C01 some years ago as my first condenser and I was pleasantly surprised, now I bought the C03 as my 4th mic and it's just fantastic, I'm selling my MXL V67G because of this one.
Very wide freq range and extremely useful with its 2 diaphragms.
It's really full, yet clear sounding, with a little low-mid bump and a narrow upper-mid drop, but it can be easily used in a recording without any EQ.
I've used it to record baritone acoustic guitar, banjo, cello, classical guitar and male and female vocals.
It sounds best at baritone vocals, cello and generally anything that needs a fat, yet clear and vivid sound.

The multi-pattern feature is very useful for experimenting and getting to really know how to use oldschool, minimalistic or experimental recording techniques.

I personally haven't heard a better mic under 200¤

Great at this Price-point

Like most home-studio engineers, I work with poor-quality acoustics. Because of this, I use small-diaphragm condensers a lot for vocals, largely because they tend to eliminate much of the unwanted room sound of my house. However, I felt I needed a large-diaphragm condenser for times when other rooms (elsewhere) may be available; but I was loathed to spend too much.

I picked this microphone because, again, it had impressive reviews for its price-point; and because it had switchable polar patterns. Most of the time, I will probably have it set to cardioid, but I am interested in trying out the Mid-Side Stereo technique, and the Figure-of-Eight pattern will be a must-have for that. This mic also has an omnidirectional pattern option, which may come in handy for use as a room mic, or maybe for crowd vocals - in a better room!

This is not going to give you the sound of an expensive studio microphone, but it will give you bags of options for very little money.

Samson CO3 condenser microphone

The samson C03 is a dual diaphragm condenser microphone that has 3 switchable pickup patterns. You can use the microphone with a supercardioid pattern, omni pattern or figure 8 pattern.. It also has a switchable high pass filter and 10 db pad. The microphone comes in a nice carry case and swivel mount. I use the Samson CO3 microphone for two things: recording acoustic guitars and vocals. This mic allows rich and warm vocal reproduction with transparency throughout the frequency range. I bought this mic because i wanted a microphone with a figure 8 pattern to use in conjunction with a small diaphragm pencil microphone for mid-side recording. The results are amazing. The CO3 microphone of studio grade quality and is very affordable.

For the money this mic is being sold at, I think it is a very handy microphone with an omnidirectional, hypercardiod and figure of eight polar patterns. These polar patterns make this microphone an excellent choice for vocals and use as a room microphone. The LED phantom power indicator is very useful as it gives you a sense of direction when using the microphone and obviously lets you know that phantom power is enabled. I did however find that the threads on the bottom of the mic were a little bit awkward and squeeky, perhaps just in need of some use. Overall I think this is a very handy microphone to have around the studio for it's price.

Im musician with low budget home studio. Being restricted in money, I know that I cant buy the most expensive microphones for 10 000 dollars, ( but not always - expensive is best) and more than that best studios have 100 different microphones for different type of voices. So I try to buy THE BEST that is available for my money. Do you want do get super sound? So firstly prepare the room you will record voice in, and then your microphone will make you glad. For this money you get large diagram condenser american microphone, with extra functions ( lowcut filter, -10db, omni directional, cardio, super cardio directional option) you will not find even more expensive microphone with these functions. As for character of sound, well go to local store and sing ans listen all microphones they have even this one, and then make you choice. Im satisfied, great super budget microphone for home studio, thanks thomann, I love you).

Great features for the price

The Samson C03 shines as a workhorse mic to fit many needs in a home studio that might have a fairly limited budget. One might doubt if a mic at this price that tries to do so many things does them well, but it surprises you. The build quality feels solid as well, very robust and quite heavy, imagine it could take a beating though not recommended.
The switchable polar patterns give you so many options on what to use it for. They give a nice variation proximity effect wise on vocals and thus adapt to different singers. The figure of 8 allows for experimentation with the mid-side technique, which has given some great results, and the omni-pattern makes this mic a good overhead/room mic choice too. The low-cut is also a great add to get that 'boom' out in this case.
Simply in terms of bang-for-your-buck, the features of this mic blow you away. And what's amazing they even dropped the price so get them while you can, I'm tempted to buy another right away!

Pretty solid

I'm a beginner podcaster. I usually visit my podcast guests at their workplace so I have to drag this mic, a tiny mixer and a laptop all over the city. It's been 2 weeks for now and doing pretty well.

As for sound, as expected I need to use noise reduction filters but after application the sound is pretty close to the one of $400 MXL mic.

Great and affordable!

In my opinion this is a great entry level microphone, simple to use, with clear functions and a great button arrangement.
It comes with the case and a mount which is a bonus.
The affordability is beyond belief as the cheapest "figure of 8" (bi-directional) microphone is still much expensive than this, and yes after trying it out for the last few weeks I believe this is a great purchase. Comparing with my other more expensive condenser microphones I can see the difference but not as much as you would think.

Pros: Price, muliuti-patern, quality build, bundle (case and the mount)

Cons: Case (made of plastic), frequency response (a bit flat but nothing an EQ can't handle)

I highly recommend this product!

Great value for money!

OK, this is not a U87 but it's not far short and is stunning value for money for those on a modest budget. An excellent buy and one you won't regret. We use a pair at the College for teaching M/S mic techniques amongst other things including straight recording in the studio.

A great microphone for the price

I bought this with the intention of recording some live acoustic instruments. The response range is fantastic and captures each instrument brilliantly. Sure, it's not a U87 but it does not pretend to be. If you're considering the amount you spend on a microphone this is definitely great value for money. It is a very versatile product with the polarity options. Having the option to switch between cardioid and figure 8 is very useful for myself as I record lots of radio drama using mid/side. No other microphones in this price range have that option. I have used this alongside more expensive microphones in recording instruments and voices and found this to be competing with them. A great product that I would recommend to anyone looking for value for money.

This mic is not a competitor for a high-end mic, but it offers a great way to get into experimenting with different miking techniques and gives great bang for your buck/euro/pound!

It comes well packaged in a plastic case and has a mic stand clip, however you're probably better getting the shock mount with it as it is definitely susceptible to handling and cable noise.

There is some noise at high gain settings but for the price it is a bargain.

I searched for a Condenser microphone that has omnidirectional, fig-8 and cardioid patterns. And I didn´t want to pay much money. The Samson C03 comes with a plastic carry case but without a shock mount (but that ok for my use). I use it for electric guitar and acoustic. I compared the sound with a microphone that costs twice as much, and the result was quite good. There was a difference, but the Samson C03 did a good job. A little minus is: It seems to have a foam inside the microphone that is not removeable. I think maybe it would have more brilliance without the foam (and an external pop shield instead). But for this price this is ok for me. The switches are ok, the phantom LED is a very bright shining light. For this price it is a good, warm sounding mic for a lot of different recording situations.

Sturdy build, lot of build-in options with 3 patterns, -10 dB pad and low-cut eq this is a steal for the price. No bad word about the sound. Of course the more expensive mics are better, clearer sounding, etc, but for a demo use at rehearsal space these are sufficient, as the room itself is not a studio, either.

The only slighlty negative thing is that the plastic case the mic comes in is unnecessary big and could fit two mics in it, which is a waste of space.

I love that microphone

I have bought that microfone for positive feedback read online on forums.... and i can affermate that it has fantastic dynamics and sound.
I'm a sound engineer and i have used it for corister as for Drum's HiHat, and in all situations the Samson C03 has made its job !!
it is a microphone to have !!
