Check your pedals first!

This kit is neat and easy to assemble. The included cable cutter is easy to use and produces clean cuts, but it's a little flimsy in terms of build quality, while the plugs are a bit heavy and of great quality.

An important note: the angled plugs are a bit shorter than the straight ones, so you must check the connectors on your pedals. Some pedals like those of Seymour Duncan, have bulkier connectors and the angled plugs of the kit tend to disconnect if you move the cable even slightly. Other pedals' connectors such as MXR's or Mooer's fit just fine with either plugs.

For cables you tend to plug and unplug all the time (such as for instruments), stick to the old soldered solution, for reliability purposes. For pedalboards or cables that stay connected for long periods of time, the Planet Waves Cable Station is your answer!

Premium quality, but jack plugs too short

The gold plated plugs are beautifully made, and the cable is chunky but very flexible. The cutter works well and the plugs fit on to the cable easily with a small screwdriver. The only problem is that the plugs are short - only 1mm shorter than my previous Planet Waves guitar cable, but it means that they don't "click" into the sockets of any of my guitars or pedals, and pull out really easily. You can make things better by opening up the sockets and bending the retaining clip, but at this price you shouldn't have to.
