A beautiful beautiful compressor pedal

This really is a box which once plugged in you are really not going to switch off.

It is an optical compressor so you do not get the extreme pumping of some compressors. Also the 'chime' knob puts back some of the top end which you naturally lose with compression.

This is the second Orange pedal I have, and I have no complaints about the build, the sound or the quality craftsmanship. This is a really stunning compressor and rivals many boutique pedal costing twice the price.

OK, it is big, we are not taking small footprint pedal, but the sound quality easily makes up for the extra space on the pedal board.

I have this with the Orange Two Stroke straight after to tweak the sound of the guitar before entering any 'proper effects' (as compression and eq boost are not really effects) and the sound I am getting is the sound I always dreamed of, whether this is a cheap 90 jap-strat copy or a pricey Les Paul.

It really fattens the sound without changing the tone characteristics of the guitar.

I could not be happier.

Super Lösung auch für Bass

Habe den Kongpressor auf meinem zweiten Board; und muss sagen dass ich mit den Soundmöglichkeiten mehr als zufrieden bin. Im Vergleich zum Darkglass rauscht das Gerät sogar deutlich weniger! Die beste Funktion habe ich erreichen könnén, wenn der Kongpressor als erstes Gerät im Signalweg liegt, dann lassen sich alle Varianten von sanfter Kompression bis zu leichter Effektkompression einstellen; eine wirklich unbrauchbare Einstellung konnte ich nicht finden. Der Clou ist tatsächlich der Tone Regler, mit diesem lassen sich schöne vintage Sounds erzeugen, oder eine Einstellung für die M. Miller show einstellen :-)
Einzig die Kontrollleuchte ist vielleicht etwas hell und blendet auf "dunklen" Bühnen. Ein wirklich tolles Gerät, unbedingt antesten!

depuis tres longtemps je cherche un ch'ti Komp qui ajoute ...da Small Touch 2 my ToonzZ... et ce Optical Komp est ze perfect match !!! il fait ce qu'on demande a un komp de légende il sublime votre son et devient une partie intégrante de celui-ci au meme titre qu'un preamp ...ah last but not least je joue du joue du Jazz Fusion/RnB/Funk/NeoSoul et ceci explique cela ^^

Einfach toller Opto-Kompressor..!

Ich besitze schon den Photophobia-Kompressor (auch Opto-Komp) - jetzt wollte ich auch einen zusätzlichen nach der Verzerrung einsetzen.
Den Orange angeschlossen... ein bißl an den Reglern gedreht... gespielt... - und sofort überzeugt...: DER bleibt da!!
Wieso?
Klare, eindeutige, selbst-erklärende Regler-Beschriftung.
Absolut rauschfrei.
Weiche, (im besten Sinne) unauffällige, trotzdem definiert hörbare Klang-Ergebnisse.
Ordentliche, angenehme Haptik (SO muß Regler!).
Das Design ist das Sahnehäubchen drauf...

Auf Grund der tollen Einstell-Möglichkeiten hat jetzt der Orange die "Pole-Position" auf dem Board, der Photophobia packt bei Bedarf nach dem Overdrive zu...
Das war ein Glücks-Griff... - kann nur sagen - ausprobieren!!!

Update...: Nach zwei Wochen habe ich leider feststellen müssen, daß es schnell zu verzerren beginnt, wenn man den Squash-Regler etwas über 12 Uhr bewegt... da muß man schon sehr vorsichtig an die Saiten gehen...
