A really helpful and flexible tool!
I learned about this microphone holder from another drummer/sound engineer. He has a couple of them and uses them to mike floor tom, snare top and/or bottom or even Hi-Hats from the bottom (in those cases where that is needed).
I bought one myself half a year ago for those exact same purposes. But also to mount my tablet holder on any type of stand (I do this when I want to go to rehearsal by bicycle).
Pros: Absolutely versatile tool for mounting of microphones, tablets, ... I even used it recently to mount two stereo bars of microphones to one mic stand.
Cons: The only one I can find is that you can turn the rod in only 6 positions. The rod is hexagonal and the screw only works on the flat sides. It limits the possible positions only a little bit though.

Handy, but with a disappointment
This thing does what it is supposed to do, holding a microphone firmly. It operates simple and smooth and can be fixed easily, without play. Mechanical quality is fine.
My only problem with it is that the six-sided bar cannot be fixed safely under any rotational angle as the fixing screw needs to be pushing against a flat side of the bar to get good grip. There are in fact only six rotational positions, which would not be a problem if it could be mounted as shown in the picture. Alas, that's the one position that is NOT possible, with the angled side of the bar pointing straight up (or straight down). I wish K&M had made the choice to bend the end of the bar in a 1/12th different direction, which would have made it far more useful. So now I use the straight end of the bar, most of the time, although when I purchased it I intended to use the other side mostly.

Great mount!
These mic mounts are solid - perhaps a little too solid - they are heavy. However, they are a very good design and do the job admirably. The ability to mount mics at any point on a boom is great and I haven't found the 2 positions available be a disadvantage.
For additional positions the bar can be rotated - but as it is hexagonal there are only really 6 positions usable. If you need a little extra length the bar slides back and forth.
Great purchase and did the job required.

Versatile
One of the many above average mic holders. It's sturdy, so therefore very suitable for drum miking, and especially basedrum miking with the heavy mikes. I clamped it on my tom holder and let it face downwards to hold the basedrum mike, it's still sitting at the same place after months of every day drumming.
There are many solutions for instrument miking, this one I'd always take into the collection for the drums.

Deceptive cover image and so-so quality of fabrication.
I am a big fan of K&M products. This one doesn't hit the mark, however. What a big design flaw that they didn't use octagonal instead of hexagonal wire. Now the amount of possible, stable positions is limited and strikingly, the position I needed and which is depicted on the product cover photo is NOT possible. Additionally, the wire is not bent in a completely right angle. They should really produce an updated version of this product, which would make it killer. However, this one is going back due to its limited functionality for me.

Handy & robust clamp
This is a handy clamp which can save you some space by removing mic stands.
To access all of the available installing angles, one need to place the screw on the appropriate hole (there are two holes available).
Since I mount it on cymbal stands, my only complaint is that there could be some kind of shock absorbing material on the clamp itself. Of course you can install a rubber pad between the cymbal stand and the clamp yourself.
Overall a very useful hardware. Saved me quite a lot of space by removing the traditional mic stands.

Combining K&M 240/5 mic holders and K&M 23910 quick-release adapters to attach iLoud MTM monitor pair on bookcase saves so much room space, excellent!
Improvement requests:
1. Change hexagonal rod to octagonal one
2. Additional short rod
3. Protective plastic rod caps

Does exactly what it needs to do
A simple mic holder, very durable, very flexible in use. Great for quick fixes (extra mic on a stand, gidden mic somewhere in stage props) or for permanent installation. Bit pricey but the alternatives are not as good.

Perfect Holder
The last mid / side recordings i did with two microfone stands. Thats ok, but i thought i give these microphone holders a chance. And what can i say - they are great.
I bought 2 of them and now its really easy recording in m/s and blumlein. Now i only need one stand for my recordings.
They were build very robust and flexibel. They´re a little expensive, but for that quality it is ok and they should last for a long time.
They can fit everywhere: Use it as a desk mic stand, on your drums, on a piano, on a tree to record atmos.
Really great tool for any kind of situation.

Great way to mount additional items on a single stand
Very useful and well-made product.
Highly recommended way to mount additional items on a single microphone stand. I?ve used this to mount audio and video recording equipment to a single stand, and, in conjunction with a stereo microphone bar, create a mini-Decca-tree like configuration with three (heavy) microphones.
One thing to keep in mind: the mounting arm locks into six position (the arm has a hexagonal cross section). So your mounting options are limited. Not as flexible as a goose-neck, but significantly more stable.
