It´s okey!

I´ve bought this Nut a month ago for a concert guitar, which I am restaurating. I´ve choosen ist, becaus I had little choice. The quality is okey, but not the best. If you need a cheap Nut, take this one. If you can spend more money, do that!

Just Awesome!
Anónimo 15.03.2016
I bought this guitar nut to fix up an old guitar i have lying around. The strings were touching the frets and I was getting a terrible fret buzz on the E cord.

I knew my guitar was a 52mm neck but i didn't measure the height or spacing of the strings. Because i knew eventually some sanding down would be necessary. And since its an old banger guitar that hasn't had a pleasant life i didn't really bother.

The nut was bang on the right size for my guitar! I couldn't even believe it! I didn't have to touch it one bit! I removed my old nut which was a piece of trash (it was a hollow piece of plastic that only touch the guitar neck with the outside borders, nothing in the middle to transmite vibration). And glued on the new nut!

Dropping the nut on the fret board, you could hear a clear distinction from the new to the old one. The new nut had a much deeper and rich sound then the old one. Its also a solid piece (has only 2 small hole on the bottom, don't really know why) not a hollow one like i had, so it transmites vibration a lot easier.

After gluing it on twice (the first time i was shy on the glue) and installing new strings the guitar came back to life! So happy!

I am so pleased with this nut...The price is awesome, the quality is good and the installation was a breeze!

When i received the nut under a more meticulous inspection i found the the nut was cracked. I probably happened during transportation as i bought a bunch of stuff. I contacted Thomann and they sent me a another one free of charge! So as always Thomann's service is flawless!

Cheers guys! Rock on!

Well Slotted
BillDL 21.08.2020
I don't know what it is made from, but it feels a lot harder than more expensive but softer plastic ones I have bought before. I needed a wider than normal 6-slot nut to convert an old 12-string acoustic to 6-string that takes really heavy gauge strings. I will adjust the slot depths myself to the correct fingerboard radius. If I mess up, it cost me less than a bottle of beer. Maybe I should have bought two or three just in case?

Does its job, doesn't bankrupt you

Perfect generic replacement part for an old classical guitar. Unless you want to be fancy, don't bother with the expensive ones. This will do just fine.
