Geweldige bas, maar vervang direct de snaren
Nomiis 27.04.2022
Heerlijk! Speelt soepel en snel.

Very Disappointing
Almuzura 26.04.2022
The sound was good but the flagship of Squier has way too many flaws. I ordered two, one in Olympic White, one in Red Ruby Metallic. Let's get the sound out of the way: it was great, no doubt about that. But the craftmanship...oh boy!

The neck binding edge had been shaven off (probably duing the frets filing), had scratches in may spots and there were gaps between it and the wood fretboard;

One of the block inlays had gaps around it; scratches on the fretboard near the neck pocket;

The Red Ruby Metallic came with a broken pot. It worked but it was loose: the threads on the potentiometer shaft were gone. The reason for that was that the nut that keeps the knob in place ate out the thread, which protudes out of the knobs plate only 2 mm, not enough for the nut (and the washer underneath it) to have a grip on it;

Blamishes on the headstock varnish in the Olympic White. The body of both instruments was finished pretty well.

To summarize, I sent both instruments back. I could have accepted such flaws on an Affinity but not on the 40th Anniversary. I own a Precision and a Jaguar of the Classic Vibe series and they are much better than the 40th and less expensive.
