Wanted to try something different. Well these are.
Coated black nickels. Not as bright as steels, but should be brighter then regular coated nickels. Well. that's about right I think.

The G-string was DOA and I contacted Thomann. Without any further ado they sent me a replacement which is a lot better sounding then the first string I received. Perfect service. The G-string still doesn't have the 'singing'-tone like the other strings do have.

I am playing in C# tuning and these string are perfect for that. Interesting note is, that when you are playing on a bass with single-coils you will have more ground-hum. It looks like the coating dus not connect you to ground when you touch the strings. If you play through a DI or Wireless this isn't an issue.

Can't say anything about reliability and durability (yet).

Great looking strings. Seem to sound good too (have not played them enough). Unfortunately I had not realized they had tapered ends: a lot of buzzing as action is now too low on the bridge end. I don't want to mess up my saddles and action so I am reverting back to my usual strings brand. A pity.

Montées depuis 1 an sur basse esp micros Jazz.

Son :
Neuves, elles ont un son incroyable. Graves bien dessinés. Les aigus ne sont pas en retrait mais ils ne claques pas autant que d'autres cordes (d'addario, elixir...) C'est loin d'être un problème, que vous jouiez en slap ou au doigt, même les sons parasites seront un bonheur à entendre.

Utilisation :
Super agréables ! Si vous jouez au doigt, votre main droite sera comme dans un fauteuil. Elles restent tout de même moins agréable que des cordes enduites type Elixir mais le son qu'on y gagne est bien plus agréable selon moi.
Seul bémol, les slides de la main gauche pouvaient quand même vite faire mal si vous n'y allez pas doucement.

Fabrication :
Depuis un an d'utilisation, aucune de ces cordes n'ont cassé. La couleur par contre, c'est une autre histoire. Au bout d'environ 5/6 mois, le noir va commencer à partir aux endroits où vous attaquerez le plus et au niveau des frets sur la longueur du manche.. Si vous jouez au médiator, ce sera encore plus rapide. Malgré ça, elles ne sont pas encore nus et garde un bon aspect global.
