Great range but lacking in depth abd clarity

If I could I would give this a 3.5 stars as its decent enough and certainly has Great range but the overall sound is slightly scooped on the midrange and lacking in separation and clarity. This actually makes a poor recording sound better than it is but then that's not what I want in a receiver. The bass has good weughtbto it but overall a slightly unimpressive reproduction. The focal one I bought at the same time is far superior in almost every way in terms of audio fidelity but it is the opposite of rugged so no comparison in that department. All in all a decent product but Denon really could do better in the DAC department. If they can produce a high end sound from their Prime range then they could have done the same here and it has left me somewhat disappointed ????

handling: both balanced XLR and single ended outputs are provided
features: output level can be set by pot
sound: excells well over the EUR25 Logitech I bought at mediamarkt, great soundstage, clearly pinpointing the instruements, even though bluetooth has limited bandwidth ( I use Infinity Quantum Jr speakers with tube amplifier)
quality: I like sturdy steel housings which can be mounted by screws

I have tried the receiver in my home, and it was working through 2 walls without any issues with a distance of 10 meters. Worth every cent.

Sehr guter Gerät mit kathastrophaler Layoutplanung

Also vorweg:
Eigentlich ist das Gerät super!

- Der Klang ist 1 A;
- Anschlüsse: (bal. XLR - unbal Klinke 6,35)- top!
- Kopplung: einfach, stabil, zuverlässig;
- Verbindung: Distanz ca 30 m ohne Probleme, kein Verbindungsabbruch;
- Gehäuse: Metall stabil, Maße stimmen, Schraubenlöcher zum Befestigen

....eigentlich könnte man jubeln.... eigentlich.....

Aber welcher Hirnzwerg plant denn bei einem Gerät, das zum Einbau - in welche Gehäuse auch immer - gedacht ist (schön die Anschlüsse hinten und die Bedienelemente plus Antenne vorn) die Buchse für die Stromversorgung nach VORNE???!!!???
Wie birnig ist das denn!!!???
Sieht gut aus bis auf den dämlichen Stecker, der vorne immer raushängt/raussteht na toll.
Da ist es nur eine Kleinigkeit, dass die Antenne weiter rausstehen dürfte, damit sie nicht so dicht vor den Frontblenden anderer Geräte hängt.

Zum Glück kann man mit Bohrmaschine, Seitenschneider und Lötkolben die Spannungsversorgung von hinten ins Gehäuse und direkt auf die Platine gelötet herstellen. Ist aber natürlich ein herber Eingriff in die Integrität des Gerätes, der zwangsläufig mit Garantieverlust einhergeht..... sehr ärgerlich.

Jetzt nach dem Umbau könnte ich aber nicht zufriedener sein.
