Very nice two-in-one mute.

I needed both a cup mute and a straight mute so I decided to try this two-in-one model. I'm very satisfied with both varieties plus it saves me money AND space in my backpack.

The mute fits nicely and is easy to mount/remove without damaging the bell. Construction feels reasonably good although I'm a little worried that connecting/disconnecting the cup might eventually wear it out. I've only used it for a couple of months and it's already a little bit looser. Hopefully it won't be a problem, only time will tell.

Still a great product and highly recommended!

Great mute but...

This is a great mute and sounds great, but has a major problem - the corks. All 3 of the corks had fallen off within the first week of me receiving this item, and in my naivety, I attempted to fit it myself rather than return it. This is an issue I have personally faced with a couple of Denis Wick mutes including the Bass Trombone Cup and Carbon Fibre Straight Mutes as well as this one

Dieser Possaunendämpfer steckt bombenfest im Schalltrichter. Ich besitze ihn jetzt schon länger und er ist noch nicht einmal herausgefallen.
Praktisch finde ich, dass es 3 Dämpfer in einem sind. Als Straight-Dämpfer finde ich ihn okay, da er ein wenig stumpf klingt. Die Cup-Version hingegen überzugt mich voll und ganz. Praktischer Weise kann man, da die Cup abnehmbar ist, den Zwischenraum zwischen Cup und Schallbecher varieren und so einstellen, dass der gewünschte Klang erreicht ist.
Beim Plunger bin ich eher altmodisch und bevorzuge einen aus Gummi bzw. eine Gummisaugglocke aus dem Baumarkt. Der Plunger ist zwar annehmbar, aber klingt mir zu sehr nach Metall.

Bei der Ansprach würde ich sagen, dass die Posaune fast besser anspricht als ohne Dämpfer, aber auf jeden Fall genau so gut.

Die Verarbeitung ist gut, außer am oberen Rand des Straight blättert der Lack minimal ab, weil er ein wenig übersteht.

Diesen Dämpfer würde ich mir wieder kaufen, alleine wegen der überragenden Eigenschaften als Cup-Dämpfer
