For a stage piano, the CP4 is amazing. Mine has been played by professional pianists, not just in a 'lounge' mode, and it holds up brilliantly. Why? The action is very close to a natural piano action, and is also fast - meaning really difficult phrases work where other digital keyboards lose ground.
Strengths: very portable, very easy to operate, wonderful piano. Great sounds, particularly the keyboard or guitar-type sounds.
Weaknesses: only, for me, the fact the sustain pedal acts in sostenuto mode (as in middle pedal on a grand piano) for strings and other 'not struck' sounds rather than the 'damper' effect you're expecting (or at least, I am). So you play a note for strings with the pedal down and it just carries on with no diminish until you release the pedal. If you run piano and strings together this is very awkward, and not like other Yamaha digital pianos. Perhaps I'll find a fix for this.
I've recently received delivery of the CP4 88note keyboard which I've found is ideal for a gigging pianist due to it's relatively light weight, the quality keyboard feel and easily accessible range of useable sounds. Overall, quite satisfied and have received numerous positive comments from other musicians who have 'sat in'. However, I previously used a Yamaha P90 which origanally came with a music stand which unfortunately is not included with the CP4 making it necessary for additional expense if you need one like I do. Power lead supplied was not UK plug type although not a problem if like me, you have some spares.
