If you are looking for a smaller portable amp that can be played in a small club or in a larger venue with sound and tone to spare this may be it. Your friends will be amazed at this little amp. I play in a small club and the Sheriff is just perfect for that gig with tons of tone without being too loud, but I played a fairly large outdoor gig and the volume didn?t get past 7 playing rock n?blues. I purchased it with 2 cabinets so I would have a good blend of tones and not have to carry a 2-12 cabinet, and happy I did. I got the 112V and the 112C so I have a Creamback and a Vintage 30 in two nice little lightweight cabinets, easy to transport and they sound great together. The Creamback is, well more creamy, the Vintage 30 has more punch and more focused mids so if that is what your looking for maybe take 2 of them. The build quality is first class, the sound is simply amazing for a small inexpensive amp. I have several amps among them a 1965 Fender Deluxe and a 1966 Pro Reverb, and some blues jr?s, all great amps but this little Sheriff has so much character and is so flexible. With the treble up and bass down you can get that fendery tone if you want it but then crank it for a nice fat Marshall tone. The balance overall is very versatile, with no pedals it sounds great with plenty of gain in channel 2, but it also works like a champ with pedals, and very well voiced for playing slide too. I have a lot of amps in my studio and they have now taken a back seat to this little monster. You won?t regret it, go ahead and treat yourself! Also special mention and thanks to Thomann I live overseas and they make the whole process of buying and shipping a breeze, maybe too good my pockets are getting empty ha ha!
What an amazing amp this is!! I tried it only with my Vintage 30/The Governor loaded 2x12 and this thing is a little monster. Very responsive to guitars/pickups you use with it, cleans up beautifully with the volume knob. That being said, you will have to use the volume knob to get cleans if you want to play it really loud since it starts to compress with gain on 1 o'clock with N3 strat noisless pickups, but big Fender cleans are not the reason you buy this kind of amp. Master volume is another thing that is very well done on this amp as it retains allmost all of your tone even on low volumes. 4 hours after its arrival I was still playing it and found it really difficult to stop, I think that says it all.Just try it, if you are looking for a 'plexi' sound you won't be dissapointed.
