Great attenuator !
Great choice for those who owns non-master volume guitar amp like "plexi", etc.
Of course usable also for those who owns master volume amps, but they want to crack the master volume to get that famous overdriven sound from the saturated power tubes !
I checked the silencer in both above described situations and it works perfectly !
The sound is really nice, rich and full, without any significant affection of the overall tone.
This particular type can handle either 1x16 Ohm cabinet, or 2x8 Ohm cabinets.
You are able to attenuate the overall volume of your amp in several steps (each = 2 dB) up to - 16 dB (using the left pot), but if you need you can go even lower (up to 0 db) using the right pot of the attenuator what is really practical if you want to crack the amp to the bedroom level and do not disturb anybody around.
Moreover, there are two switches that can boost / attenuate the overall height / bass in case of need (usually in case of extreme low bedroom level volumes).
SUMMARY : Highly reccomended "addictive" product !

Great Silencer! Worth the price!
A SILENCER (ATTENUATER) is a must if you have a 100watt tube amp and playing at home. This is the best product you can find in Europe. Although it is a little built chunky, it has a great look when you please on the top your amp! However, if you have a handle on your amp, putting it on the amp might be a problem. I think the functions it offers cannot be found easily in other silencers.

Attenuator with lots of fine-tuning options
This attenuator is easy to use and has a lot of fine-tuning options for your sound. This can be the solution for too loud amps. So for apartments, small gigs, keeping your neighbors satisfied and to keep your ears healthy, this can be the thing.

Tube Amp Doctor Silencer 16 Ohms
The Tube Amp Doctor is well made and typical high quality german engineering.
The -16 dB option with fine tuning is a great option.
The downside is that the fan does make a noise every time you hit a string on high gain, although you can hide the Silencer away if you don't want it on top of your amp.
My Silencer also blew up and had to be replaced! The company suggested I mis-connected or had the wrong impedance which is non-sense! They did replace it anyway.
My friend has one and has had no issues.
