I have been using the box speakers now for about 7 or 8 years. They have an excellent sound and are very loud. My son has been using the PA302a for 8 years with his disco and runs it into the red more times than not - but they still keep working, pumping out the sound. They are on the heavy side compared to some newer (and much more expensive models) but for sheer value for money and quality they are excellent. The horns do blow on the PA202a quite often and I believe this is because the output to the horn is too high. I found turning the treble knob down to between 9 and 10 o'clock gives a much more balanced sound than withh the knob at 12. I now use JBL EON 515's because they are very light but sound wise the box's stand up very well in comparison - and when I bought the JBL's they were over £1200 for a pair
A very well built piece of equipment, with good sound quality. I use them mainly as monitors for a band. It would be useful if the XLR socket had a locking device, as the plug often falls out with the vibration of the cabinet. Gaffer tape doesn't look very professional!
My only other gripe is the lifespan of the diaphragms in the tweeters. I have five of these speakers and have now replaced five diaphragms! I thought that having a built in amplifier would protect the tweeter - obviously not!
