This is a good intermediate introduction to metal snares. The hardware possibilities are many with both customizing the snare tension on the throw off side and the opposite side. Each lug have a quick release option when changing heads which makes it fast and easy to regain tension. The brass looks wonderful and it cracks beautifully. Still haven't changed the heads since the preseated heads sound wonderful.

The brass sings nicely, tone is naturally high, attack as sharp and crackles like a good metal snare should do. Impressive

The Beauty and the Beast in one snare. I love it. It looks so cool. Beautiful snare. The sound can be a beast if I want. I can use it on a very wide dynamic range. For this reason this snare can be perfect in every kind of music.
Now I change the heads in half the time than before.
I like the snare strainer, it's totally noiseless and you can change the strain of the wires from both side.
Very focused, zippy sound from a beutiful snare for a few hundred. Highly recommended!

Warm sounding and responsive pro snare drum

I was looking for a versatile and dynamic snare drum. I'm mostly playing in small jazz combos for now.

This drum did exceed my expectations. I use it tuned medium high now. I find the drum very responsive and I can play with good dynamics. I like this snare sound with the snares off too, works nice with brushes.

Worth every cent.

Avec la série Starphonic TAMA mélange modernité et vintage.
Sur cette série la marque propose plusieurs évolutions majeurs mais également des idées reprises du passé.
Tout d'abord un système de cerclages aux rebords rentrant vers la peau. Cela à pour effet une projection sonore différente. Cela protège également les baguettes qui subissent moins les assaut du cerclage en rimshot. Pour les tirants TAMA reprend un système à l'ancienne permettant de changer plus rapidement les peaux. Par contre si l'on règle les peaux avec une forte tension, on peut constater que les clips des tirants ne se positionnent plus aussi parfaitement en contacte avec le cerclage. Dans la série des nouveautés TAMA propose un tout nouveau déclencheur au style plutot classique avec un petit levier très souple et une molette crantée pour un réglage plus précis. A l'opposé le butt end possède également une molette de réglage crantée. Autre avantage une partie du butt end est détachable lors du changement de peau de résonnance. Cela permet de ne pas perdre le réglage de tension du timbre et donc d'effectuer le changement peau très rapidement.
Le fut est vraiment très bien fini et en plus de cela le look est vraiment très réussi. Le modèle brass possede un crack puissant avec une résonnance plutot courte en tendant les peaux. En jeu sans le timbre le fut possede une belle résonnance.
