Schecter C-6 Pro Aqua Burst

Let's start with the good things. The first pro of this instrument is its weight, I have never held such light guitar. The body and neck are both very thin, so I can say that it is one of the most comfortable guitars.

Next is the design of this instrument, as you can see it is a very handsome guitar but the only thing that you should keep in mind is that the green color is not fading into the black color as I thought but into blue. In some video reviews, you can see that sometimes the blue color is extremely well seen. You can check the FR version of this guitar to understand what I mean.

Now about the cons. The first thing that I have noticed is that the sound seems kinda flat, I cannot get that desired "meat" tone from this instrument. I am not sure why is it like this, because the pickups seem very aggressive, but maybe it could be because of the thinness of the body. I have never believed/seen that the wood of the guitar somehow extremely impacted the guitar sound, but maybe this is my first time seeing it.

The second con and one of the important ones are electronics. I am very dissatisfied that new instruments are having some issues like this. The issue is with the volume knob potentiometer when it is almost at 100% the signal is cutting out and while using this knob I can hear the crackle in the sound. I know that this is a fast fix, but a new instrument should not have issues like this.

In the end, I can say that this instrument could be my "working horse", I am really satisfied with the weight and comfort as it makes the guitar easier to play for me. But a crucial defect in electronics is breaking all of the satisfaction during usage of this instrument.

Die C6 von Schecter kam leider mit schief eingebauten Humbuckern und einem kleinen 2 cm Kratzer an der Buchse an. Über den Kundenservice wollte ich die Gitarre austauschen. Dieser hat mir wiederum einen Preisnachlass angeboten. Okay, früher oder später hätte ich die Saiten sowieso gegen die NYXL und die Mechaniken gegen die Schaller Locking Tuner getauscht. So habe ich das Angebot angenommen und bei Thomann weiter investiert. Mit dem Fret Rocker bin ich über alle Bünde. Auch hier habe ich drei Stellen gefunden die nicht passen. Die Bünde habe ich nicht geschliffen - aber poliert. Neu besaitet machen sich die Deadnotes leider durch schnarren bemerkmar. Es ist nicht super schlimm und nervt mich beim Spielen nicht. Trotzdem wäre es schöner gewesen, wenn die Bünde perfekt abgerichtet wären.

Nun zu den positiven Dingen. Man bekommt für das Geld richtig viel Gitarre. Dreiteiliger Mahagonibody, wunderschöne Pappeldecke, Ahornhals und die Mechaniken sind auch absolut okay. Die Humbucker sind wirklich gut. Allerdings könnte man da natürlich noch in PUs aus der A-Liga investieren. Ansonsten macht ein Austausch keinen Sinn. Insgesamt wirkt die Gitarre deutlich hochwertiger als es der Preis vermuten lässt. Eher aus der 1.200 € Klasse. In dieser Kategorie spielt die Schecter nicht, da es doch erhebliche Qualitätsmängel gibt. Wer bereit ist im Fall der Fälle bereit ist gleich Hand anzulegen, bekommt eine super Gitarre. Es könnte natürlich sein, dass ab Bestellung alles passt - da braucht man aber wahrscheinlich sehr viel Glück. 😉

Výborný nástroj! Koupil jsem jej ze zvědavosti a na základě recenze z youtube. Neměl jsem zkušenosti s touto značkou. Po zhruba půlroce hraní je to teď nástroj n.1. Už po vybalení nebylo co vytknout. Nástroj už z továrny špičkově ladil, což se velice často nestává ani u dražších nástrojů renomovaných značek. Díky profilu krku a nízkému dohmatu se stalo hraní doslova návykovým. Rozpínatelné Decimatory nabízí hromadu zvukových možností. Zpracování nástroje hodnotím jako velice vydařené. Dodání od Thomann jako vždy perfektní.

Pas facile d'écrire un avis objectif sur une gratte qu'on n'a pas aimé alors qu'on pensait l'adorer, mais je vais essayer quand même.

Je vais commencer par ce qui m'a induit en erreur : les deux articles, dont les liens sont présents sur ce site, qui expliquent que le son des micros Schecter Decimator rappelle celui des Schecter Super Rock. J'ai chez moi un C-1 Exotic Star, munie des micros Schecter Super Rock II. Ils sont puissants, agressifs, avec des aigus prédominants en bridge mais de bonnes basses en neck, et un son bien net et défini. Forcément, je m'attendais à quelque chose dans le même esprit.

RIEN A VOIR !!! Les Decimator ont un niveau de sortie assez moyen, des basses dominantes en bridge comme en neck, et offrent un son plutôt gras. Ils m'ont davantage fait penser à des Seymour Duncan SH-8 en moins puissants et un peu moins agressifs.

Dommage, car ce son ne me plaît absolument pas. Alors oui, j'aurais pu la garder et changer les micros. Mais un des attraits de cette jolie C-6 pro, c'est la promesse d'un rapport qualité prix assez canon. SI je dois sortir 200 euros pour changer les micros pour mettre, je ne sais pas, du Bare Knuckle ou du Seymour Duncan, ça devient tout de suite moins rentable.
J'aurais pu l'envisager si la lutherie était exceptionnelle. Elle est très bonne, mais pas exceptionnelle. L'assemblage corps / manche est très bien exécuté, le manche est, comme toujours chez Schecter, une vraie autoroute, tout en restant très confortable en accords. La finition est impeccable et le poplar burl aqua burst magnifique.
Pour ce que j'ai pu en voir, les mécaniques font bien le job, l'accordage est stable. La guitare est plutôt légère (je ne l'ai pas pesée, mais je dirai entre 3 et 3,5 kgs) et très bien équilibrée. La touche en Wengé est sympathique, jolie mais je la classerai un ton en dessous du palissandre en termes de confort (je compare avec une autre Schecter, la Damien Platinum 6, que j'ai reçue en même temps.)
Les frettes font l'objet du même soin que d'habitude chez Schecter : c'est poli, limé, rien qui dépasse, impeccable !
Petit détail qui m'a un peu gêné : la prise jack de la guitare n'a pas le même type de fixation par écrou que d'habitude sur ce type de modèles. On a ici un écran cranté, rentré dans le bois. Tant que tout fonctionne bien, aucun souci. Mais le jour où, pour une raison ou une autre, il faut retirer cette prise jack, les choses sont amenées à se compliquer singulièrement. Il faut un outil spécial qui ne se trouve pas partout, et attention à ne pas abîmer le vernis !

AVANTAGES :
- Peinture sublime si on aime le genre
- finition impeccable
- guitare légère et équilibrée

INCONVENIENTS :
- micros manquant de pêche (étrange quand même pour des "Decimator" !)
- son un peu trop gras
- pris jack certes esthétique mais pas du tout pratique.

En temps normal, je dirais si je recommande ou pas l'achat de cette guitare, mais là, je n'en sais rien. Elle est jolie, bien construite et proposée à un prix abordable pour sa catégorie, mais le son des micros m'a vraiment déplu. Question de goût !
