I have had the Rockbag Rackbag 24400 B for a good long while, now. I needed a solution, that would allow me to bring the heart of my studio, my Apollo audio interface, with me on the road, and not have the hassle of constantly un-mounting and mounting the unit in a fixed studio rack. When I am gigging, it is sufficiently light weight and small to put it in an inconspicuous place on or off stage, Back home I just put it atop one of my studio racks and reconnect the Thunderbolt cable to my studio Mac, my speakers, and I am good to go.
The Rackbag makes for easy access to both the controls on the front of my units and the connections on the back.
After having taken a good beating on the road for a long time, the Rockbag tag on one of the zippers came off. It is of no practical consequence, and I would recommend the Rackbag to anyone who have no desire or need to roll a full rack on a wheel base in and out when gigging.
After having used two 2HE rockbags in the past I decided to get this 4HE unit instead to house an effects-unit and a poweramp. All three are not what I've anticipated. They are very easy to handle thanks to the shoulder strap, there is a side pocket to house cables or other small things. The front and rear flaps come in handy aswell with zippers but thats where these units fall short. The zippers are made of poor metal and break quite fast, the corners are constantly a pain to work with and the textile material gets tangled in the little plastic hooks from the zipper-line. After about a year of weekly use I have had to replace the shoulder strap hooks that clip on the handle rings without ever using them to take off the shoulder strap, what I mean is that they broke just by carrying the bag. The rock-tex material is also not quite road-proof and the finish inside on the wood is plastic tape which comes loose fairly fast. The stitching threads also comes loose after a while. The rackrails are good enough but are not neatly finished (left and right rails are not the same height with all three units I've had).
For very occasional use this rackbag could suffice but for weekly use and/or on the road it fails, you'd better invest in a good flightcase.
