I have recently changed tuners on my 2008 PRS Custom 10-Top 24 with birdinlays, due to worn tuners model phase II, which is original to the guitar. First, I invested in the same and swapped them, but did not feel that the new nor was so "accurate" as I desired. Have had a PRS Custom -92 with winged tuners and they were very accurate as I remember them. Asked on various forums, including the PRS own technical forum, what would distinguish between phase II and, the more recent, phase III of the measure and fit before the exchange. However, no sensible answer more than a screw hole on the back would be visible after the change. None of the other dimensions, length thickness, etc., which settled the matter. Decided to try it, then this is a real "player", a little worn and I'm not allergic, as some seem to be. Ordered from Thomann and BOT out my existing, without problems. However you can drill extra holes, two for each strain screw, then the more recent Phase III has two screw holes and the old are not suitable to use. Have tested these hard Pase III and is more than happy to see that these "cuts like butter" very accurate both to sue down towards the checkpoint and upwards when to tune the guitar. Recommended for replacement of most suitable sizes as these are very cool with their open backs, so you can see and have Control over the "mechanism".
