I bought one of these a few years ago for my drum kit, and was so impressed I bought another for my lighting rig. Both of these were sold (with the kit and lights), so when I bought a new kit and needed another bag, there was no question where to go. These bags are not as 'solid' or padded as the Protection Racket bags, but they are cheaper and lighter. I reckon they are just as strong, and being more flexible (pliable) they can fit more things in them (such as awkward shaped 'motorcycle' type drum stools). It's a simple bag, but the handles, seams, zips etc are all very well made, and will last you many years of gagging. If money, weight and flexibility are not an issue, the a Protection Racket bag is possibly 'better', but this is much better value, and far more versatile. Highly recommended (this is my third one!)
This is a good hardware bag. It has served me well with my hardware going from gig to gig. It fits nicely in most car boots with toms and snare, cymbal case and a few other bits and bobs. It could use some handles on each end where the pockets are to make it easier for two people to carry.
I used this to transport a cajon and some other hardware when going to Spain for 3 weeks of gigs. It picked up a small tear in the top right hand side somewhere along the way. I suspect this was caused as a result of luggage handlers and not a flaw in the bags design.
If you mind it and don't over load it with sharp edged stands it will get you by. It fits my needs well for the moment until I can purchase a hardcase.
