I play everything from death metal to wedding covers, so I tend to buy stuff that is very flexible and can be used for pretty much any common genre or use case I'm likely to play. Because of this, I've bought quite a few MB10 cymbals since they came out and I've loved them for their clear, warm but cutting modern tones. (the Meinl website sounds are completely accurate). I'll not comment too much on the sound specifically, as it's completely up to you, but I think these are some of the nicest modern cymbals you can buy.
The MB10's work well in all these situations and this 18" medium is the perfect all rounder. It has plenty of cut and volume when you need it, good body and presence but isn't harsh or jarring in any way. In metal gigs, this cuts through without issue, and I've often got compliments on how good it sounds. The MB10's tend to be a little drier and more 'focused' than the other Meinl's I have - the MB10's decay a bit quicker and have a quicker attack. The bell sound is clear and clean and very usable. The feel under the stick is more on the harder side.
These are very durable cymbals too - this particular one I ordered off Thomann replaced an identical crash that I had beaten the crap out of for 6-8 years until it finally cracked. Nothing else has had the same level of durability as my MB10's.
This sound signature is great for rock and pop and metal, but the tradeoff is a little bit of a compromise for more 'subtle' music. When played quietly, these don't quite have the same dexterity and sound a little 'clangy'. This isn't really a downside, this is just the sound profile - I've often had this cymbal used alongside an 18" soundcaster custom/fusion or byzance and their downside is at higher volumes, they don't have the same cut or presence and they are not as durable. They compliment each other well however.
This is a brilliant all rounder for modern music and I wouldn't replace it with anything else. It's a grade A professional cymbal, easily beating similar A Customs or AA/AAX's for a significant amount less money.
