Jeśli zaś chcesz zacząć przygodę z lampowym Marshallem, to warto wypróbować ten sprzęt!

Polecam!

Terrific lightweight 5 watt tube combo for short bread
Marklee, 18.09.2021
I'll say this now, because before buying, I watched a Youtube Review where three Swedish shredders make this amp sound absolutely terrible. THIS IS A CLASSIC BLUES ROCK AND SOUL AMP. That's what I play (with a slide, for over 50 years), and I am very happy I bought this device between the time its price was slashed by nearly half and the day when they will surely sell out. IMHO, it's probably the best lightweight combo amp for sound and features since Vox stopped making the Pathfinder 15R, which I also own -- and one of the very few devices I ever bought new. BTW, I looked at it because the best amp model for what I do on Zoom's MFX pedals is the Marshall Bluesbreaker. I never owned a Marshall before -- I don't like the sound of their solid state amps, and the tube amps are too heavy and powerful for me. I sure liked that sound, though. Then I spotted the Origin, and finally found a YouTube clip of a guy playing a Tele through it that confirmed it would do what I wanted it to do.

For someone who plays small rooms, the 5 watts on this amp are plenty. My ears were recently damaged by playing a gig with two guys who each used 150 watts of amplification to hammer 30 people sitting about 20 feet away. That's when I started looking for a 5W tube combo (after quitting the band), and the feature set on this one impressed me. You need to crank a tube amp to get the best sound, which means my 15 watt Fender SCXD is too powerful for practice and small rooms. (Why I didn't want a Blues Junior, LOL.) The SCXD has decent onboard effects, which I use. The Origin 5C has none, but it also has a silent FX loop, and a cheap Zoom MS50G (another best buy) sounds lush through it. I haven't tried using the FX send as a line out yet, and I see no reason why it wouldn't work as it does with plenty of other amps. I did take off half a point for the feature set because I like having a line out (as do my other amps).

It took me half an hour to find sounds I really, really like on this amp, and every time I turn it on (several times a day), I find more. I don't own a Tele, and I can get a Steve Cropper sound from the Origin. I can also get a warm jazz sound and everything in between -- despite cutting the bass below noon most of the time. It works for AC/DC too.

It's not perfect. The 8" speaker can get flubby with the boost on, and I like to leave it on for the breakup and edge. I have the same problem when I raise the volume past two o'clock. Maybe that will fix itself when the speaker breaks in. I won't change speakers, though; I really like the range on this one, including the bass. The "tilt" switch tightens and brightens the sound, and in any case I usually don't need all the volume this device can put out. (In fact, I really like the 0.5 watt setting for quiet practice or learning tunes.) If I need a bigger amp, well, I'll use one. When I need more gain (and better control over it), I'll put an OD pedal in front of it. In a week of playing the amp about 2-3 hours every day, I haven't needed it. That's saying something, because OD is essential to most slide tunes (ask any Elmore fan).

I could go on and on, but I'll get to the point. This amp is better designed, with well thought-out features that actually work, than the vintage 5 watters that guitar players salivate over. I don't need or want it to be louder than it is. It's absolutely noiseless, very easy to carry, and comes with a footswitch for boost and FX, which makes a sweet deal sweeter. It captures the sound of my guitars and adds something special. The only uncertainty is whether it's built to last, and that's why I bought it new, to get the Thomann guarantee. At the price Thomann is currently selling it, it's a no-brainer for anyone who plays small rooms and classic styles. If Marshall ever stops making it, and the quality is real, I predict it's gonna become a collector amp like the Pathfinder 15R. If you need an amp like the one I just described, it's a very safe investment. I'm a cheap and frugal gear guy, and I have no buyer's regret whatsoever. Play on!

Awesome low watt tube amp
Vox Lover, 19.08.2020
I love low watt tube amps and this is a worthy addition to the few that I have. It looks like the Blues Breaker in miniature, which is aesthetically very pleasing - a classic Marshall look. And the circuitry seems to be similar to the old Marshall classics; it has that great EL34 tone. It has an FX loop, and comes with a foot pedal with which you can engage the overdrive function (that heats up the preamp stage and gives about a 3dB boost) and the FX loop. Nice. I think it's strange that Thomann mentions neither the FX loop or that it comes with the pedal; those were selling points for me, but I only found that info on other sites that reviewed the amp. As some have pointed out, access to the loop in/outputs, and the extension speaker output are kind of out of the way and not so easily accessible. No biggy, just a little inconvenient. And you'll want to hook it up to a larger speaker, as the Celestion 8" isn't really bad, but sounds a bit boxy and quacky to me. I like a single 12" or a pair of 10s. Anything with 16Ohms is fine. But the 8 is perfect for living room practice. If you're micing the cab, be aware that the speaker is off-center - it's to the left. It's a 5W amp, but can be switched to half a watt. That's brilliant! 5 watts is pretty loud - perfect for practicing and enough for club work if its miced. But the half-watt setting is great if you want it to break up without having the neighbors calling the cops.

The breakup when you push it is very natural. You can get a very nice clean tone, but when you dig in with the pick it will respond immediately, much like an amp with a tube rectifier would. And it has this weird so-called "tilt" knob. As far as I can tell, it's similar to a presence control, like on the old Plexis, but seems to affect the upper mids more than the highs. It doesn't really add "air" but a bit of sparkle around 3 to 4 KHz. Maybe the old presence controls affected the same frequencies, so forgive me if I'm off base here. I had a Plexi, but that was decades ago...

Anyway, for the price, a fraction of what a boutique low-watt tube amp would cost, it's a very worthy amp with lots of tone. And, if I may, Thomann is offering it at about 150 Euros cheaper than some of the competition. So, for me, it was a no-brainer.

I'm very pleased, and surprised at the quality and tone for such a reasonably priced tube amp. No, actually the price is amazing for so much tone and quality.

Awesome tube amp with versatile sound and modern features.
Maxxximus, 08.01.2021
I needed tube combo for home practice on bedroom volume. I was choosing between 20w and 5w, and thanks god i chose 5w, because even on 0,5w mode this amp is rather loud. I never raise volume higher than 10 o'clock. Therefore, it's difficult to achieve natural overdrive from this amp on home volume, but that's no problem, because this amp is an incredible pedal platform. Any overdrive/distortion pedal from classic overdrives to hairy distortion pedals in front of it will sound amazing, creamy and saturated.
The other pros of this amp are:
1. It has FX loop, which is unusual for small power tube amps. Besides of ability to connect modulation/ambience effects, this allows u to connect any preamp to the fx return.
2. It has 0,5w mode, which is vital for home practice.
3. Tilt control is super useful, which lets u get any sound from sparkling to dark and warm.
4. Vintage design looks amazing.
5. The price is super tasty!!!
The only con for some people may be 8" speaker, but for my taste it sounds cool as well, just different than 10" or 12".
Overall - amazing versatile home amp for such an incredible price!!!
