Good amp for the money but i am not satisfied
Bluesmachine 13.10.2021
The power reduction is useless.No sound or volume difference at all.5 watts or 50 sounds exactly the same.I thought it was damaged.I send the amp back to Thomann and they said the amp is ok .Today i took it back.Same thing.Not even a small difference in sound or volume.Also the amp is very trembly like all Marshalls and i found it a little bit harsh sounding.The amp is loud but not so much as they say.i feel like something is missing to be alive.For example my Orange OR15 is more powerfull and alive.If you want to achieve the plexi thing its ok.When i first receive the amp i send to Thomann a video with the attenuator problem and they agreed to send it back.After that they did not accept that there is no power difference even between 5 and 50 watts.They even didnt wanted to listen to my problem.Very rude.They told me take the amp or the money back.Only one woman from the customer service was like that.The others was ok.I see many demo videos of the amp in youtube and the power scalling is working.I dont know what is going on with mine.I tried another origin 50 and the power scaling switch works corectly.I am very disappointed

P
let there be Marshall

the gain goes from completely clean to AC/DC. it really shines when it's completely gunned and run through an attenuator. also really loves a tubescreamer or some high output pickups. looks beautiful, sounds beautiful and is lighter and smaller than most heads. it really competes with more expensive heads and I really like it.

the footswitch is kind of dumb, the cable is REALLY, unnecessarily, long and you can't switch it to something reasonable. it's also required to run the FX loop

Finally found my amp.
Mellotronic 22.02.2020
Hi there, just a very quick notice on the ORIGIN 50 head that I've recently acquired. First off all, I'd like to mention that I am one of those lads getting older and wealthy enough to buy gear that I like. This means that when it does not suits my needs, either it goes back to Thomann or straight on second hand market. I am basically a studio warrior (whenever my job and familly let me) with I guess an acquired taster for things that sounds neat. This amp is the pinacle of what I was looking for: a mid gain, loud and pedal friendly full tube amp. I actually own Orange, Fender and even Boss gears (dark terror, tweed deluxe and Katana 212), I've played lots of Marshall through the years and I know what to expect from a decent amp: versatility, lots of headroom and balanced with my guitar collection. This one gets everything! regarding the pros, the amp is very loud, simple to tune and gets that sizzling Marshallesque sound from 70's (think of Mick Ronson's 200). it literally loves pedals and Les paul's classic 57's but does also a great job with P90 and Telecaster's PUs. The cons, well, it is very loud even with the 5W attenuator, this beast must be tamed for studio and bedroom usage (the Harley Benton's passive attenuator is the way to go). Some will complain about the lack of a built in reverb, but we all know that built in reverbs are usually lame (either DSP or "faux spring") if you want a spacier sound, just plug your best reverb in the effect loop and there you go... For a bit more of 400euros with a decent power attenuator, you cannot be wrong.

S
Marshall Quality, Shame About The Sound
Stephen6002 23.05.2020
I bought this in an attempt to split the weight of my guitar rig, currently a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV. Using an A/B switch, it was easy to compare the two. Sadly, the Marshall lacked the lovely full sound of the Fender. I even tried connecting the speaker of the Fender to the Marshall and vice versa. It improved the Marshall marginally, but the Fender still sounded better, even through the separate cabinet that I was using for the Marshall.
With tone settings Bass:10 Middle:10 Treble:0 Presence:0 the Marshall sound still lacked body and depth. Increasing Treble or Presence just made it shrill. Using the Tilt control, the sound just went from woolly to ear-piercingly shrill with nothing in between that I liked. Engaging the gain boost helped a bit if you have it on all the time, you have no extra boost left for soloing.
Disappointed!
