Very nice fretless with plenty of tone options

Well-built nice looking fretless bass for a reasonable price.

Pros:
- Active/Passive electronics: no need to worry about running out of batteries. Although, I personally like active mode's tone a bit better, but they're both quite good.
- Nice ergonomics and reasonable design: never had any pains playing this bass whatsoever. Bridge has simple design and makes action/intonation adjustments a breeze. Easy to change strings and batteries too.
- Multiple modes for each pickup: single, parallel and in series. I personally like single mode in the neck and parallel in the bridge, then blend them 50/50-ish. Single mode adds a bit of clarity and parallel mode gives nice strong low end.
- Tuning stability is also good, but you might have to tighten machine heads' screws.

Cons:
- Truss rod adjustment is done at the head and access to it is obstructed with A string. Would've been perfect bass if not for this flaw.

Schön, super Klang und Handling, teils hastiges Finish

Der schöne bundlose M7 5-Saiter mit Erlenkorpus, den ich von Thomann nach Wien gesendet bekam, trägt und spielt sich sehr fein. Der Sound ist mit den aufgezogenen D'Addario Flatwounds auch schön. Das Finish, besonders von Hals und Griffbrett, lässt aber doch zu wünschen übrig. D- und G-Saiten scheppern am 1. und 2. "Bund" (fretless!), um den 10. Bund zeigt sich ein sehr leichter Knick unter den D/G-Saiten. Das Griffbrett ist also nicht ganz gerade geschliffen. Auch hat an der Bridge eine Inbusschraube zum Festziehen eines der Saitenreiter gefehlt. Ergonomie und Sound haben mich dennoch beeindruckt. Ich gebe Sire noch eine Chance und lasse mir einen bundlosen M7 5-Saiter in Sumpfesche natur im Austausch schicken. Mal sehen.

Am besten wäre wohl, diese Sires selbst vor Ort anzutesten, wenn die Anreise zu Thomann nicht zu viel Mühe macht.
