Amazing sound and feature in a tiny package

i only use this at home and am surprised at the sound quality. With the phone interface using Tonebridge App it make it extremely versatile. Also as I don't like cables, running it on the battery with a wireless guitar system is how i use it. Amazing piece of kit. For the purpose i bought it, i can't think of any cons.

Perfekt als Übungsverstärker

Ich gebe zu, es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick - was eine rationale Beurteilung natürlich nicht leicht macht. Als reiner Übungsverstärker (Couch und Terrasse) ist der Mini-ST ziemlich perfekt - Gain, Clean/Drive, Ton - das reicht mir völlig, der Sound über Kopfhörer ist großartig, meine Nachbarn sind sicherlich dankbar ;) Einen Extra-Designpunkt müsste es eigentlich noch für die süßen Mini-Chickenhead-Potis geben, und einen zweiten dafür dass der Lionhead-ST nicht mit dem billiger wirkenden Kunststoff des Mini überzogen wurde, sondern mit etwas was sich fast wie ein echter Verstärker angreift - großartig (alleine dieses Material ist schon den Aufpreis für die ST-Version beim Lionheart Wert). Einen Verarbeitungspunkt Abzug gibts für die ganz leicht wellig aufgebrachte Spiegelfolie. Wenn ich grad beim Kritisieren bin: am Mini-Pot für den Delaylevel ist mit meinen dicken Fingern nur schwer zu fummeln ;) Und ein Bogen Laney-Aufkleber ist übrigens auch mit dabei - mit irgendwas muss man ja die Kratzer am Gitarrenkoffer überkleben ;)

Was den Sound betrifft, fehlt mir die Vergleichsmöglichkeit mit zB Katana Mini, ich habe aber noch ein Amplifi30 von Line6 in Verwendung - das hat zwar mehr Möglichkeiten, aber zum schnell mal üben zwischendurch reichen mir die Grundmöglichkeriten des Mini-ST voll und ganz. LSI funktioniert prima, wenn ich mal mehr will - und funktioniert auch mit anderen Modeling-Apps als dem (zugegebenermaßen genialen) Tonebridge. (Übrigens ist eine 3-Monats-Lizenz für Ultimate Guitar Pro auch mit dabei)

Fazit:
Klein und handlich ist er, selbsterklärend zu bedienen, schön zimmerlaut kann er (durchaus auch bis etwas zu viel, wenn mans drauf anlegt), schön klingen tut er, und schön anzusehen ist er auch - was bei einem Übungsverstärker der überall rumsteht ja nicht ganz unwichtig ist - zumindest für alle denen der WAF auch wichtig ist, oder wichtig sein muss :) Ich würde den jederzeit wieder kaufen - der Abwechslung halber wird der zweite aber ein Mini-Iron fürs Büro ;) Zu diesen Preisen kann man die Minis ja fast sammeln - ist ja vielleicht auch die Idee dahinter...

Aber viel mehr ist dann leider nicht.
War für's Wohnzimmer gedacht, da mein anderer Übungsamp (Yamaha THR10) eine Etage höher am PC angeschlossen ist. Fungiert dort auch als Aktiv-Box für den PC.

Der Laney erinnert an die 'Spielzeug' Fender Tweed Amps die es schon ewig gibt. Dieser hier klingt, soweit ich mich an den 'Fender' erinnere, etwas besser. Habe extra die grössere Stereo version genommen.
Der Amp ist auch als ST Version sehr klein und klingt mittig bis quäckend. Mein ca. 25-30 Jahre alter Samick Baby-G kann da locker mithalten.
Zumindes gilt das für den Clean-Sound des Laney. Der 'Drive-Channel' kling furchtbar.
Ich habe auch mal die App installiert und 5 Minuten getestet: erst ein lag von locker 1/2 Sekunde, nach Neustart der App dann viel besser (gefühlter zehntel Sekunden Bereich), aber es hat mich immer noch gestört.
Als ich dann extra eine Etage höher gegangen bin weil da mein THR10 steht war es entschieden. Ist natürlich kein Fairer Vergleich da der Yamaha das Vielfache kostet, aber wenn man den Laney nicht spielen mag...

Aüsserlichkeiten:
Er sieht toll aus und ist verblüffend schwer. Für optischen Style hätte er die volle Punktzahl bekommen. Fast hätte ich ihn nur wegen des Ausssehens behalten, das hat dann aber doch nicht gereicht. Die Chicken-Knobs sind niedlich, die Mini-Taster nur schwer zu erreichen und die Chrom-Oberfläche der Schalterleiste nur eine aufgeklebte Folie die sich sofort verformt wenn man mit dem Finger daran kommt.

Ampli de travail sympa mais...

Ampli très compact, une des commandes du delay est toute petite.
Je l'utilise en intérieur, avec une strat mexicaine, pour travailler mon jeu ou passer le temps en "gratouillant".
Le son brut est assez bon, qu'il soit clair ou saturé, avec ou sans delay.
La connexion au téléphone permet d'ajouter des "enveloppes" de sons prédéfinies, calquées sur des morceaux existants. C'est vaste, il y a du bon et du mauvais. C'est intéressant mais il n'y a pas tout ce qu'on voudrait et on ne peut pas faire son propre paramétrage. Ça serait indépendant du type de guitare et de micro.

La qualité de fabrication est très bonne pour un petit ampli à pile mais un détail gâche tout : le cache de la trappe appuie sur les piles et provoque des faux contacts : il s'éteint ou ne s'allume pas du tout. Ce n'est pas un défaut de fabrication mais c'est la conception même de cette trappe qui est en cause. Il faut l'utiliser sans la trappe ou avec une alim externe et on ne peut donc pas l'emporter en bandoulière. Dommage, car les boutons de courroie sont fournis...
