This amp was bought for a university music society that regularly puts on jam sessions and band practices. It looks great and feels durable.
The amp sounds pretty good, especially for the price. Nothing exceptional, but still better than I was expecting. It does cleans well with plenty of headroom and does a nice Marshall plexi style crunch. To my ears it sounds much better than the Line 6 amp used previously.
However, it leaves a little to be desired for high gain sounds. This should not be an issue for anyone playing music that's not particularly heavy, but it can still be something to consider. If you want to play metal on this amp I would recommend buying a decent distortion pedal for this.
This amp takes pedals well, especially for a solid state amp. It has an effects loop for any time-based or modulation effects. This feature is not offered by many other amps of this price.
The built-in reverb, delay and chorus effects are decent, but won't blow you away. I would recommend using external effects.
Since it is a reasonably heavy 212 amp I would have liked it if there were handles on the sides of the amp for easier portability. Unfortunately it does not.
Despite my criticisms I would recommend this amp to somebody who wants to buy an inexpensive 212 amp for band rehearsals. It is more than loud enough to be heard over a loud drummer. Not really for metal players, but a pedal would fix this.
