This is a sturdily constructed and well designed stand. I much prefer neck hanging style stands, they feel much more secure than the ones you stand your bass in.
It's important to have confidence in your stands when you have four basses behind you on stage, you don't want to be worrying about them falling over.
A couple of minor issues. One is that the neck grips aren't quite wide enough for some six string basses (my Thumb six and Wal 6 are too wide) and secondly, it's a sizable piece of kit... it wouldn't fold up and go in your gigbag.
I usually use the Hercules stands with the auto grab facility but these are in the round and therefore take up a lot of room on stages or in studios. I bought this to use in the corner of my recording studio at home but have found myself taking it to small gigs to hold instruments as its very compact, can fold into a tiny space but is much sturdier once set up as it has large stabilising feet which fold away. The set up looks very small but it holds large baritone guitars, basses, full body acoustics etc with ease.
