Organic but heavy lush sound in basic easy pedal
Kapser 10.12.2021
As I hoped, the pedal has this very organic sound en the tail can be very long at the same time without sounding digital. Very all round reverb pedal. No spring reverb and I am glad for this ! No modulation, no problem! I even prefer. And the basic sound is also very transparant and not already (darkmooded) coloured by modulation. Unlike Walrus Audio reverbs . The pedal has only room, plate and hall. Ideal for my more ambient use and it stays simple this way. You can do slapback if you want. No problem. This is the only pedal I found that is so simple and useable, and at the same time very organic sounding with just a few modes and strong enough for long tails. With the possibility to go very wet.
The Oceans 11 was too complex for example and has not that nice sound. Blue Sky was not my thing. I don't know why. Holy Grail max is cool but not versatile enough. Polara is not strong enough for long tails. Afterneath and Slo are too modulated and less controlable. Bigsky I dont know yet (because of the price). Aurora is wat I looked for. It has few knobs but just enough for tone shaping (warmth, predelay, mix, decay). If you put the predelay (slapback) max and also the mix on max, it is only wet reverb. On you tube this seemed not to be the casel. But I checked it now and it goes very wet. Is it 100% ? difficult to say, but doesn't matter, it goes high enough. About sounding organic : I compared it to the Loomer reverb. The Loomer is even more organic sounding than the Aurora, but this is a really unique pedal and not so strong and allround. I think if you want organic sounding reverb, Keeley has probably the best sounds. Aurora is then one of the best options in this Keeley range. I must say that I look for a organic, sixtievibe 90's shoegaze lush reverb , some lo-fi side effects are also welcome in this sound . I don't look for a pristine , synth-like , dark mooded strong reverb. In this last case Aurora can also function but is maybe not the best option.
