It's got a pleasant, mellow tone, although a little muted. The body is not very resonant which puts the volume on the low side. That works for me since i mostly play it solo /w soft vocals, but in an acoustic band setting it would definitely need to be miced.
I switched the strings for Aquila Nylonguts, and adjusted the bridge by gently removing the plastic bar and then sanded the underside of it down to lower the string height. Doing that has a clear effect on tone: the original higher action gave more clarity and projection whereas lowering the bridge yielded better playability, especially up high. I chose to sacrifice a bit of tone for lower action and am happy with the result.
The tuners are solid and accurate.
The bag that came with it is alright but soft, it won't protect the uke from any kind of pressure so I replaced that with a Kala light tenor case.
Overall I recommend this as a campfire uke or for home practise.
I've been playing this ukulele for more than a year, and i can say that it's a quite good instrument, this was my first ukulele, so i didn't want to brake the bank getting something with a better construction quality.
If you are starting to play ukulele, i think this is an amazing choice, it comes already with a Kala Gigbag,
I think they can improve a little bit the tuners, or maybe that's meant for the more expensive ukuleles, apart from that any other complains.
