I'm a singer in a gigging band and I wanted to invest in a good mic stand that didn't fall apart after a few months of use, and this has proven to be a pretty good choice. It's sturdy and robust and holds tight, so no chasing the mic around. A slight wobble developed where the boom arm connects to the base, there was no way of tightening this, so i made up some epoxy resin and secured the offending piece, and it hasn't given me any other troubles. I've had this stand for well over a year now and it's going strong. If you look after things they look after you. When and if this stand does go I'll be definitely investing in another.
Issues with these stands being unstable where the boom arm is connected. Talked to other musician friends about these and some have experienced the same problem. It seems that it's an issue with the design, and not something that can be fixed. This is disappointing as the reason I bought these stands was for stability and reliability. Maybe I just got a bad batch, but was unimpressed. Still use them for every gig, but just more fiddling to be done.
