Best choice in for price
It's my first head after the years I've spent with several combos in same watts. But using a heads gives a room for experiment different cab. I'd paired the head w/ Eminence CA154 custom cab.
Sound from 2 different preamps with goes to simplest contour settings can let you go really deep and dark side of Mars(not even a moon). Absolute killer sensitive EQ let me adjust aggressive tone w/low contour.
Handling easiest except EQ setting. Also it's heavy and a little bit pain to transport.
Here is the pro:
1. Easy to adjust and dial a good tone.
2. Good range power to hold a small gig.
and cons:
1. It's really, really heavy.
2. Compressor is not effective, as much as individual pedals.
I highly recommend it, good budget choice instant any combos in sale.

Reliable Bass Head
I use this bass head mostly for studio work it provides a good balanced tone
Sound Quality: Good sound quality both from the Direct out and when using the outputs for cabs, the graphic eq works well you can get a variety of sounds from it as well as the hi and lo pass filters mean that a variety of sounds can be got from the head
Build Quality: I've had no issues with build quality it seems sturdy enough and the handle doesnt look like its going to come loose anytime soon it has been knocked around transporting it however it took the punishment well and i bet it will last for quite a while
Features: good amount of features which works well for a studio setting, a 10 band graphic eq, compressor, hi and lo pass filters all work well and i have no complaints about this head in general

amazing control.
not over kill on power, but it gives a enormous amount of control on developing and changing your bass sound.
the eq is brilliant and really sensitive, the tube and transistor pre volumes go through the "effects send" which I use to power my fender rumble 15" with no treble and little mid for the bottom end. the eq, bass and treble boosts along with the main volume can be used to put the mid and top end through my hartke 410 cab. its a brilliant and very versatile amp. previously I had borrowed a ha3500 and was very impressed. so I bought the ha2500 and was not disappointed at all. I dont care about the led's the ha2500 dosent have.. listening hartke... are you? led's :-(
thomann, bloody excellent.

Totally worth it
I am very satisfied with this amp. For this price, it has a lot of power, sounds great, I do not miss anyhing...I appreciate active/passive input, the compressor working just fine and even the EQ makes sound different. Paired with Harthe 4,5 B XL cab.
I can definitely recommend this amp, if you are interested to buy this one.

so far.... so good
i bought this amp a month ago... and it was great sound good powerful, the only thing is the handle on the side, atleast on both sides... =) i use this together with tp 10 hartke transporter 150w @ 8ohms and it sounds good not loud as i wanted to but for 150watts i can stand alone in small gigs or rehearsal rooms.. if you wat a cheap head get this amp!

Exactly what you expect
This is a very nice cheap bass head, that with some tweaking will give you the sound that you want, only con I have experienced is that there are no guides in regard to the switches on the back of the amp, had to go to forums for that one, ( one was ground lift and the other i do not remember)
Good product overall, I highly suggest hartke products.

its a beast
i love this thing. i had it come in a pack with the 4X8 and the 1X15 transporter cabinets, and i must say it gives my old trace Elliot GP 11 a run for its money.
its a 250 head, so not the most powerful, how ever stack up the cabs and it can rock any buildings foundations. (and drown out any annoying guitarist your playing with.)

Hartke 2500 Bass head
Hartke amps perform very well and if you are looking for an amp that replicates the sound of your bass and not the amp, Hartke is the way to go. The eq and controls are very responsive and don't take anything away from a clean, unfussy bass sound. I would advise getting an amp case, to avoid resetting your favoured eq settings. Volumes produced are good for mid size venues, and handled really well in outdoor festival environment.

Best bass amp for the price!!!
Easy to handle with, has two pre-amp settings (a tube-emulating and a solid-state one), a high- and low-end 'cut,' compression, and master volume. A very good and sensible equalization which makes it an extremely versatile and fun amp. You can plug it directly to the PA systems because it has an on-board DI-box with ground lift, as well as effects line in/out.
Loud enough for big or small venues
For this price range, this is the best amp head you can buy.
