I decided to change the pickups on my Stratocaster guitar, went for the DG20 (I am a fan of Pulse era of David) My luthier advised me to buy a Goldo battery box to ease the battery change (otherwise I should have dismantle the guitar every time the battery was flat, quite annoying) PROS: Fairly well built, very useful in the situation mentioned above Works as expected; easy to connect Note: installing in in a guitar that was not previousely carved to accomodate this box is a job for a professional; don't do it youself, unless you've done it before. You risk damaging the body of the guitar)
CONS: A bit thin in construction, must be handled with care (to me the door's articulation looks fragile)
My Ibanez 7 String has active EMGs and I didn't want to remove the screws of the electronics-cavity of the guitar everytime I change the battery. So I bought this pattery box from Gotoh. As usual, Japanese made gear is always high quality and this battery box is no exception. I routed a hole of the right size into the Cavity cover of the guitar (a small sketch with the measurements is included) and it was ready to go! A cool feature is the 'double lock' function: even if you flip the box inadvertently (wich seems to be impossible) the battery doesn't fall out. There is a small trap inside you have to open before you change the battery, very cool!
