I've had this guitar for nearly a year, it is great. It's my favourite of the guitars that I own, and I have a few that were a lot more expensive. It covers every sound that I need (rock, pop, R&B, etc) and plays brilliantly.
The quality control from the factory was good but not perfect -- a couple of pick guard screws were at an angle such that the screw would catch my finger sometimes. I corrected it by adding smaller self tapping screws (one day I might sort it properly). Also the nut is fairly cheap looking, but doing a decent job so far.
Otherwise it is great. It can do tones from fairly heavy rock to a snappy clean country (probably more, but not when I'm playing). It's neck is pretty close in shape to a fender modern C, maybe a little bit deeper -- it feels really nice. It balances nicely on a strap, the neck hangs a little further out than on a Strat style guitar, so it feels a bit bigger. Perhaps because it hangs a little further out, upper neck access is better than that on any of my other guitars, even though it doesn't have a beveled neck heel.
Bad things first: knobs look and feel cheap and I have many doubts regarding their durability - especially the bridge knob. Also the nut is cheap plastic. Though it seems to keep the strings well so far, I don't think it is going to last. The strings it comes with are totally useless and are in need of immediate replacement. Lastly, the instrument won't exhibit its full potential until you have it properly setup.
On the other hand, the most striking feature of this guitar is its resonance and sound even unplugged. I don' t know what type of mahogany wood it is made of, but surely you cannot play it at night even using headphones, if you want your kids or wife to sleep soundly. Probably this is due to the bridge, a formidable piece of hardware, combined with the tuning keys which I think both come straight out of the American model. It keeps tuned OK even after going through my clumsy playing. Pickup magnets produce warm or twangy sounds on request, contributing to the high versatility of the guitar. Lastly the neck, one of the best thought out and most playable guitar necks I have ever experienced. Even I can use it for soloing! If you want your kid to learn fast, get this!
Though on the expensive side of indonesian instruments, this one is perfectly playable, fit for gigging or learning. Chances are you won't regret your money.
