A bit of context: I bought this as a gift (lucky dude) so not putting it through all the wear I would my guitars. Read a fair few reviews and videos on it, 2017 Tribute is a guitar worth getting was the general gist.
The guitar is made of wood that's now protected and this model's finish (cherry burst) is Thomann exclusive, both pluses IMO.
I got guitar delivered at work, took it out, made sure all was stable, strummed it a bit, wood on neck is gorgeous, you can feel the wood, something I like, the finish is lovely, especially the binding like effect of the top around the edges.
Once I got home I plugged it in, man that neck is fast! I'm not a shredder by any means but I just felt like the guitar wanted my to play faster. Pickups are the real deal, it sounds like a Les Paul, love the way it sings past 12th fret on B or E Strings, a bit of bend and vibrato and you'll find yourself thinking 'niiice'.
One small fault though, the pickup selector was dodgy, Treble and Mid fine, Rhythm sounded... clean, even on distortion, odd to say the least. I did severe stuttering which fixed it, might have been some 'gunk' in the switch, so have to dock marks for that. I never knew Gibson include an actual photograph of them testing your guitar, nice touch!
Pros: Looks great, plays lovely, sounds like a Les Paul costing double the money IMO. Tempted to get one for myself now!
Cons: Obviously the switch needing some manual effort to put right is a tad annoying but if the other guitars are as good as this one, you won't be upset.
