The price tag for a pair of these CDJ players is very low and tempting but beware - the low price tag brings with it some problems.
One cannot expect build quality to be very solid on a budget unit, but the sound quality should be paramount and this is where the unit fails quite badly - the advertised specification of harmonic distortion is pure fantasy - there is perceptible audio flutter on most CDR discs, and a rather crunchy sound (as if the pitch correction software is working even if the pitch slider is set at 0.0). I know my source material plays fine from the same discs on other players, so Gemini should not point the blame towards the CDR burns.
The units are very sensitive to wobble - vibration is an issue, so not suitable for anywhere that has loud bass.
The USB feature works fine with MP3 but does NOT support wav format.
The instant start feature is nothing of the sort - very very slow pickup for cueing tracks. You'll be back to counting beats very carefully.
All in all I think it's rather cheeky to include the word "Professional" in the model name. That would suggest the audio quality is to up to a professional standard, which it is not.
Finally, the front loading drawers are very flimsy and one of my units is already showing signs of a fault - the tray re-opens upon closing several times in a row before it will stay shut.
Sorry to be so damming, but it looks like these units may have to be returned. I would advise potential purchasers to consider alternatives until Gemini release a firmware update to fix the audio issues. At the very least.
