The Fender Squier Standard Tele is a fantastic guitar for the money ! ..
I bought this guitar not knowing what to expect to be honest . I have had a few Squiers in the past and never really had much luck with them "BUT " Fender Squier Standard Tele has changed how I feel about the squire ,
Firstly I would like to point out .
IF you are thinking of getting a Squier Telecaster DO NOT but the Bullet or Affinity Squier Telecaster !
Save up the extra EUR80 and go for the Standard Squier Telecaster , "" On sound . fit and finish there a world apart !!!! ""
They may look the same BUT honestly " that's where the similarity ends "
The Standard Squier Telecaster feel, sounds and plays like a much more expensive instrument ,
Onless you have ever held ,played a bullet or affinity Telecaster you will not no what I mean by the quality and how different they feel to the Squier Standard .
Don't get me wrong " there is a place in the world for the Squier Bullet/Affinity guitars " But im guessing if your reading this review your thinking of buying a Squier Standard Telecaster and im guessing this might/could be your 2nd or 3rd guitar . Please please don't take my word for it . Look up the reviews on the net for the Squier Standard and compare them to the reviews for the Affinity/Bullet
The Squier Standard is the nearest thing you will get to a " MIM " Made in Mexico " telecaster but its half the price .
Out of the box ..
When I got my Squier Standard telecaster is was pretty good out of the box . it was 99% there . I just done a little tweeking to lower the action but that took about 5 minutes ,
I have the guitar about a year now and it hasent giving me any trouble whats so ever .
If anything , the guitar feels and sounds better with age " Like an old pair of slippers :-) . It learns to fit your needs .
Ive tried all sizes ,makes and models of strings on the Standard telecaster and I find the Fender 9s suit the guitar best ,
well I hope this review has helped you some what and this is an honest review and Im sure theres people out there who might not agree with the above , But Ive been playing guitar for over 30 years now and ive had 100s of guitars over the years so I would like to think that at this point I kinda have some idea of whats hot and whats not :-).
Like I said above """" Save up and spend the extra EUR80 and got for the Squier Standard telecaster over the Affinity or the Bullet Squier . You will NOT be disappointed !!
I would ALWAYS recommend to everyone and anyone to buy a set of strap locks for any guitar " Its a cheap mod " that will extend the life of your guitar .
I have owned a Japanese tele in the past and was thinking of buying an American special but looking at reviews of the squire standard on YouTube I thought I would take a chance....very pleased.....sounds as good if not better than my old 1996 Japanese custom the finish is good, maple wood neck feels a little newish but fretboard is very smooth, with a saving of £500 just to play at home I don't think you can go wrong , took it out of the excellent packaging tuned it and played it set up is fine, delivered on time to UK.
