I must confess I was reluctant to buy this guitar at first, but after hours reading thousands of positive reviews and videos about it I decided to go for it. I am really impressed. The guitar is very well built, and came rightly intonated with only minor action adjustments needed out of the box. Thomann did not save on padding in order to avoid damages, it came very well packed. The finish is impecable, the hardware seems strong and the electronics work really well. The pickups sound good, but tend to lose clarity when under higher gains. Last but not least, the neck blew my mind. The finish on the back is very thin and allows easy movement, it feels very comfortable and also looks really good. The higher-end Squiers and - obviously the Fenders - have their merits, but this one is a great choice if you are on a budget and will not let you down.
I only wish that other finishes were available for lefties. This butterscotch blonde is nice and the fact that it is transparent allows you to see that the guitar is made of solid and good quality wood, but more choice fo colours (even if just a few) would be great.
After playing bass for several years, I decided to pick up guitar and being a lefty there aren't many choices for cheap-ish electric guitars. So after a short while I came across this squier affinity tele which was relatively cheap and it certainly exceeded expectations; it has a great bright tone for such a cheap guitar, it's also beautiful to look at with the maple neck and dark butterscotch reminiscent colour. If you're a beginner or even experienced guitar player looking for something that can take a beating and still sound great then you should certainly consider buying this guitar
