I purchased this bass for health reasons as a temporary instrument (as it?s lighter than my standard USA Precision and a couple of pounds makes a difference over a 2 hour gig). I think it looks cool too.
It played ok out of the box, but with a wee tighten of the neck screws and an easy adjustment to the bridge and truss rod it?s really a good instrument and plays fine (especially considering the price point). I had to redo this couple of times until it settled in.
My personal preference (because of the style of music I play) is to play it set to the Split Single-Coil precision pickup sound rather than the jazz pickup, but the growl it offers is there should the need arise. I?ve played a few gigs and rehearsed with it quite a bit now and I?ve determined the sound quality (probably down to the cheaper pickups and wood) isn?t as good as my regular Precision bass but there?s not a huge difference.
Overall an excellent low cost bass. If you?re considering it I?d recommend it.
Overall very happy with the bass guitar. Sounds good on a good amp and you can get a variety of sounds by using the tone knobs. Great bass for gigging and a great bass to learn on. Would recommend it any anyone honestly. Had an issue with one of the tone knobs & Im still unsure if it works, But still a great product.
