I was interesting in buying a clip tuner to tune faster on stage. When i saw the price and that it was fender i said im going to buy it. And so far i dont regreat it. it is a very handy device that does it work very well and it also looks great on my red les paul. the lights that indicate wheter or not you have tuned correctly are very usefull and tuning is quite easy... the only problem is that it does not have an on/off switch. it turns on automaticaly when you clip it and turns off when you unclip it, so youll have to take it on and off in order to not burn the batery. furthermore it doesnt have a botton to switch Hz. so youll probably also need another tuner if youll want to do that.. overall it is a great tuner especally to use on stage where you dont have to switch between Hz... but if you play diferent generes of music you will absolutely need another tuner.
Even if you've not got a Fender guitar to attach this tuner to, it just looks fantastic ! The translucent candy apple red colour oozes Fender Cool & the display has 3 different colours to indicate either: flat, tuned or sharp notes. There's no buttons either, just clip it on your headstock & sensors in the rubber clamps do the rest. How does perform? Well, the first two bass strings E & A have to be plucked very hard to generate a response, much harder than other clip-on tuners I have, like the Thomman CTG-10 [LINK] . Whilst on the other 4 strings, vibrations are picked up easily without the use of excessive force! The display is very clear, bright & easy to read.
Worth the price of admission if only to use as a headstock ornament. Having to pluck the first 2 bass strings very hard to generate a response keeps it from getting a full 5 star rating.
