This is the second of these instruments I've had, as the first one lacked the correct size Allen wrench to unlock the nut/strings! Thanks to Thomann this has now been remedied with a replacement instrument. Unlike the other reviewer, I don't think this a low-quality guitar. The finish is good, the sound is exactly what you want from a humbucker, and it plays like a dream. Spent all afternoon whammying - not a note out of place! It's true that the Floyd Rose could be a little bit easier on the hand, as it's quite tight, and it's not a floater - apparently Mr. Van Halen's isn't either, but this will be easliy remedied. I've had other Floyd Rose equipped guitars and they've been very light, but it's not a big issue. There is one issue however, and that is this one, like the first one I had, has the selector switch wired/installed in reverse so up is bridge and down is neck. Big lack off attention to detail there by Fender I think, and that's why I only gave it 4 stars. Yes, this is a "budget" guitar (although I don't class a £300- ish guitar as budget personally), but don't let that put you off. The clean sounds are nicely warm, and various distortions used prove that this guitar does it all, from VH classics like Hot For Teacher to Sweet Child O' Mine by way of Bark At The Moon & Paper Plane! If you're after a rock-solid trem system, VH sounds and cool styling, get this, you won't be disappointed. ADDITIONAL--- On looking at the evhgear website, it appears, according to the American instruction leaflet, that the switch is in fact correctly installed - it's supposed to be up for bridge etc. Still a black mark for Fender, as the leaflet with this one says down for bridge etc. Ho hum, could have saved myself a two-week wait, then. D'oh Fender!
