Extremely good for the money. Pleasantly surprised

I got this mic to try it out as a replacement for a snare mic since a drummer managed to break the SM57 I owned (I didn't think it was possible to break a 57, but it seems I was wrong...drummers :D). I was very suspicious about the quality due to the low price, but how wrong can you get for 29 euros...?
Soundwise it's close to a 57. It's not the same, but they're both intented for the same applications more or less. Haven't tried it on a guitar cabinet yet, but on a snare drum it sounds great. I didn't really need any more EQing than what I would do to a 57 anyway.
What I was mostly surprised by though is the build quality. You will find no cheap looking plastic here, this thing is all metal outside and quite heavy. It's too soon to talk about long term reliability, but it gives the impression it's built like a tank and I don't see it breaking anytime soon. It looks like it can take a beating, even by drummers who take the woodcutter's approach when hitting the snare (you know...like they will chop through the drum). Even if all this proves wrong and it breaks though, it costs almost 1/4th of what you would pay for a 57 so I won't cry over it.
Actually, since it is so cheap, I'm thinking of buying another one so I can try out some guitar cab miking techniques.
An extra bonus is the extras. You wouldn't expect to get anything more than a mic for 29 euros, but it comes with a really nice pouch and an even greater mic clip that looks almost indestructible because it has a rubbery feel to it instead of hard plastic. Be cautioned though, you'll need a thread adapter because it uses the larger US thread and there is no adapter included for EU style threads.
These are an incredibly solid, well made microphone from a quality brand. If you have a job for a '57' these will do it, and do it well. They also do it at a price from Thomann which is absolutely crazy! Seriously, the value here is unbelievable. The Cobalt CO4 has a nice high output and a predictable, nice sounding frequency response. Off axis rejection is good and the overall result on percussion, acoustic guitar and similar applications is about as good as you could expect from an 'industry standard' dynamic microphone. I think I'll order some more...
