Very good acoustic

I had been encouraged to buy The Inspired By 1964 Texan by members of the Gibson Guitar Board. The guitar has a very good reputation amongst the members of this message board. Many agreed that for the price it was one of the best Epiphone acoustics ever. Straight out of the box the setup was perfect. I normally have to tweak something before a guitar feels right to me, but this Texan was just right. The neck has a great feel and there are no sharp fret ends. The sunburst finish is beautiful, a short of "iced tea" look. It is literally a great find in low priced acoustic electric dreadnoughts!!! The quality and sound at this price point is amazing. Solid spruce top and solid mahogany back with laminate mahogany sides, with a sound that emulates a much more expensive and all solid wood guitar. This guitar shines when playing chords. they ring out with each noted clearly getting through, unlike some inexpensive acoustics where notes clash and jangle. The Shadow Nanoflex pickup and Shadow Sonic sound-hole preamp system is far better than I had envisaged it would be - I have used under-saddle pickups before and I have never been impressed. This system however, is the best I have come across and replicated the acoustic sound very well. This is one of the best value acoustics I have ever encountered, especially for the price, the wood is nice, the finish is very good, the weight feels right and the sound is far better than any at this price. And at Thomann the guitar was £30 cheaper than anywhere in the UK. Once again, good quality, good service, great deal!!
