I have ordered the Z11 to midify my recently buyed Engl E646. The Z11 switches up to 8 features using either 4 stereo jacks (tested on a Peavey Valveking and the E646) or the S.A.C.-port for Engl-amps. Using the S.A.C.-port I can switch all features of the E646 with one stereo cable, which is pretty cool.
The programming of the Z11 is very easy and intuitive - activate the features and press the save-buttom, thats it.
The switching of the device is latency free if switched by hand, MIDI-Footswitch or most multi-effect Systems. It didn't seem to perform well with the Boss GT-Series. I have checked switching with the GT6, GT8 and GT100, all introducing a slightly latency in the program change. The cause seems to be on Boss' side, since it does not appear on Line6 or tc.electronic multi-effects. Basically, the MIDI-PC-command seems to be send after the effect is changed in the device.
This should be kept in mind - maybe you have to buy a new multi-effect if you want to use the Z11.
To put it in short: The Z11 is a robust MIDI-Switcher. It suits perfect with newer Engl-amps because of the S.A.C.-port. Be sure to try it with your multi-effect at first.
