Guitar SpeakersThe famous multi-platinum producer, guitarist and Grammy winner Pete Anderson wanted the tonal qualities of his two favourite Eminence speakers combined in a 12" model. The result is the HempDog 12, whose sound enhances the warmth of the Cannabis Rex with the neutral, clear sound of a Legend EM12.
Height: 12 "
Power handling: 150 W / 8 Ohm
Frequency range: 80 - 3800 Hz
Neutral sound with clarity and full round bass, but with the added warmth that only a hemp membrane can offer
Two of these have gone into a Marshall 2536, a 2 x 12, and are powered by a Marshall 2555x. They are more than capable of giving the air movement without the bulk of a 4 x 12. Also not as heavy as my son's 4 x 12 that has EM12's in it. Can still feel the jeans flap ! Plenty of clear tight bottom end and midrange punch, with a clear slightly softer top end but still plenty of sparkle . . not spikey. They're similar to a DeltaPro-12a but with more warmth. No mids-scoop and take pedals well, allowing the pedals to show off their voices!! Nearest thing to the discontinued Commonwealth 12, and ideally suits my Marshall KT88 loaded head. With my playing style running from Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, Status Quo, and George Benson . . they tick a lot of boxes and the head can be loud without speakers breaking. A diamond, especially at current prices! I do favour Eminence, with Commonwealth 12 & DeltaPro 12a in my Boogie, and now these Hempdog beasties in my Marshall, you get out what you put in. One downside, as with all cast chassis big magnet speakers, they are heavy . . Worth it
