I orderder these pickups as replacements for my Squier bass and they've made a huge difference.
Not only is the sound between the two pickups distinct, but they are also extremely quiet. I was a bit freaked out when I first warmed up my amp due to not hearing... anything, until I plucked my string.
There is zero noise, only the sound of your bass. I'm still wrapping my head around that.
While I'm okay at soldering, I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to do any while installing these. Just follow the guide and connect some wires!
I DID do some soldering though, but that was due to me being stubborn and not wanting to keep my battery under the control cavity. So to avoid that, I routed a battery box to the back of my bass, put the plastic holder in there and route the wires from that to my control cavity. After that, I cut the wires from the solderless battery holder that the pickups came with and soldered those ends to my battery box's wires.
If you're willing to stick your battery under the cavity, you don't have to do that though.
In any case, amazing pickups!

Excellent Upgrade
I replaced the standard passive pickups in my Warwick Corvette bass with this set. Fitted straight in, and easy to connect with the included solderless wiring kit. Excellent range of tones available, I feel these pickups have a warmer tone than standard EMG J type pickups.

Faultless
These are, imo, the ideal Jazz bass pickup set. I have nothing but good things to say about these pickups. 100% satisfied.

Good sounding pickups! Painless to install
I put these in my Mayones B4 - they sound great and were really easy to put in being solderless. All the relevant washers and nuts came in the box. Very quiet pickups that sound great.

All the Jazz tones, without any noise
This is an amazing set. If you like the single coil tone, but doesn’t like the hum that comes with it, this is the solution.
The electronic that comes with it is very nice and amazingly does not need to be grounded. All in all EMG JVX is the best upgrade you can have to your J style bass guitar

Great sound, easy fit although you may have to rout out space for the battery
I have an Fender Jazz fretless neck that I swapped in and out of my MIA jazz bass but I really wanted to have a separate fretless so I bought a MIM Jazz body and all the other necessary parts inlacing these pickups to build one. Fitting was very easy although I did have to rout out a small space for the battery (I know others have managed to fit it without doing this but as I have a router, this was an easy option for me). Wiring it up is easy and the instructions are detailed and nice to follow. Plugged it in first time and it sounded great - very distinct Jazz bass sound, both pickups have plenty to offer and it's a great match for a fretless with tape wound strings. If you looking for a growly, mid happy replacement set for your Jazz bass I can recommend these.
