The Fuzz Box changed my outlook on life

I was just a miserable sounding newb until I got this fuzz box delivered. Once I plugged it in (batteries not included), I became a ROCK GOD! Buildings shook, mountains crumbled, crowds gathered - it was nothing less than spectacular (except for the fine for breaking the noise ordinance). So, if you are like the prior me: bad practice habits, weak bass skills, and sketchy oral hygiene - do whatever you have to do raising the funds to buy this box! Once you plug it in and blast that nasty fuzz, no one can tell how crappy your bass playing is because you'll make their ears bleed and become ONE WITH THE GODS!! Righteous! Hallelueyaaaaahh baby!

Super fuzz

Quand on reçoit et ouvre la boite, on sent que niveau qualité ça va le faire : sachet en tissu pour emballer la pédale, belle boite, boitier, boutons et switch sans jeu et de bonne facture.

Niveau son ça envoie :
Le potard "tone" permet vraiment d'aller d'un extrême à l'autre : de la fuzz super grasse à la fuzz aigue agressive qui arrache les tympans.
Le potard "shift" agit comme un middle boost/cut : parfait pour affiner le son voulu par rapport au tone.
Le potard fuzz fournit une gamme de distorsion allant de la coloration saturée du son à une diffraction du son vraiment prononcée, mais pas délirante. On n'est pas ici dans les extrêmes de certaines fuzzs qui rendent presque le son de la guitare méconnaissable. Même le potard tourné à fond, le son reste parfaitement exploitable.
La dynamique est bien respectée et la pédale n'entre jamais dans le travers de certaines fuzzs qui deviennent criardes et synthétiques. Le son reste toujours très très organique.
Petit bémol par contre concernant le potard de volume : je ne peux pas le tourner à plus de 9h sans risque de décoller les tableaux des murs. Dommage pour la précision du réglage !

Ich habe nach langem hin und her mich fürs relativ teure Hoof entschieden. Ausschlaggebend waren hierbei unzählige Bewertungen im Internet und Youtubevideos.
Man muss schon sagen, dass das Ding mit über 200 Euro schon nicht wirklich preiswert ist. Man kann logischerweise nicht behaupten, dass das Hoof doppel so gut klingt wie EHXs Fuzz, aber es bietet dann doch etwas mehr Klangkontrolle.

Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut, das Gerät ist nicht zu schwer und der Hauptschalter hat einen guten (leichten) Widerstand. Das einzig komische bzw. absurde ist das extrem helle LED-Licht. Es ist so hell, dass man in einem dunkleren Proberaum bzw. zu Hause bei gedimmten Licht, das Pedalboard nicht mehr sieht, wenn man direkt über dem Hoof steht.

Fuzztechnisch kann ich sagen, dass ich nach paar Tagen schon ein Fan des Klanges geworden bin. Bei powerchords hört man trotzdem Nuancen und die einzelnen Töne, auch bei aufgedrehtem Fuzzwert. Für fuzzige Soli schalte ich zudem meinen DS-1 davor und den RV-6 hinter dem Hoof dazu. Klang: Top.

Allgemein klingt es sehr modern, ohne dabei die classicrock Fuzzwurzeln zu ignorieren.
