Frankly!! I'am not transistor guy or class D amps guy. I've always use tube amps. Always heads no combos. But I love to be able to move very fast from one gig to another. I was looking for small portable device that I can put in my pedalbard after a gig. I use Palmer 1x12 cabinet loaded with Eminence Legend. Zoom G3x for delays and modulation and I have a Crybaby limited and a Palmer pocket amp MKII (yes it's great as an overdrive pedal) and a tuner. Everything goes in front of an amplifier. I've hear good opinions about bass amps form this company so I decided to buy DV Mark micro 50. The sound is awsome especially on clean chanell. This chanell is deep good sounded Fenderish type of sound. Yes of course You can always say tube is tube. Of course but this little fela really sound good with my cabinet. The overdirive build in is also very useful. The reverb sounds very good. The build quality is awsome. You have to know that it is made in Indonesia not in Italy. I see that Italians have good quality control. So if you are looking for portable lightweight amp that has 50 watts of power (8ohm). Buy this little fella you wont be dissapointed. Even lack of effect loop is not a problem. Cheers!!! :)
A really well put together product. The hardware all feels great, nice feel to the pots, solid casing. Very light weight and easy to carry about.
OK The sounds. Channel 1 is in Fender type territory. There is a lot of clean head room here. I have been unable to get this to break up, however I have not turned this up above 5. I am using a Gibson Les Paul Standard. With everything on 12 O'Clock it lacks a bit of sparkle and feels bass heavy. This suggests that the default setting was tested using single coils. However the EQ is very reactive and it's easy to create a more cutting tone. Channel 2 is not a channel, but really a switchable overdrive on top of Channel 1. You can get some decent light to medium crunch out of Channel 2. The EQ on Channel 2 is sensible for an Overdrive. The overall EQ for Channel 2 controlled from Channel 1.
This is a loud 50 watts.
Takes pedals very well. I tried this with various drives most were good, perhaps a bit of fizz on some but this is likely the EQ. There were some that did not work so well but that is always the same on different amps.
The one thing this amp would benefit from is an FX loop.
Overall a good amp. This won't be my main rig, I have a THR100 which is better but was twice the price. However this makes a good practice rehearsal or back up rig.
